FX Wildcat Newb Help

I just bought a Wildcat from the boards and I'm pulling my hair out trying to insert the magazine. I'm following the online manual...put the safety on and pulled the cocking lever as far back as it goes. The slot for the magazine is exposed but the magazine won't fall in place. It just sits there as if something is blocking it. Any advice?

It doesn't fall in place, you have to push it in and then rotate with your finger

It will only go in ONE WAY and if it doesn't then flip it around. Of course make sure your PELLETS are ALSO facing the correct way! YO!

I tried both ways to no avail. I'm 5 minutes away from Topgun Air. I was just there to pickup some ammo (Joe is a really great guy). Should have brought my rifle with me so he could take a look at it. I'll try tomorrow. I don't want to muscle it in and break something.

Check the detent in the center of the mag (silver ball). It is spring loaded and should press in easily. This is the side of the mag that faces toward the back of the rifle. Insert the pellets from this side. The Wildcat's charging handle can move forward from the fully open position when the rifle is pointed down. This can block the magazine from being inserted. Try holding the handle back when inserting the mag.

I see what it's getting stuck on. In the picture above, there's a gold cylinder thingie that leads into the barrel in the magazine slot. The magazine itself can't get pass it.



@ Rodeo - That might be it but I don't know that means .

It looks like the barrel brass bushing is too far aft. You will need to loosen its retainer set screw and reposition it.

@ Bleudg - That's the gold part I mentioned. I have zero clue on how to do that. This is my first PCP. It doesn't sit flush and appears to jut out a fraction of a millimeter.

You should go ahead and let Joe look at it. He will be able to reset it. Might have happen if the barrel was bumped in shipping.

the barrel is to far back prob about 1/32 of an inch

Yeah the bbl is shoved back into the receiver...this is super common when wildcats are shipped... If you look on YouTube for wildcat bbl installation it will be obvious

Joe at Topgun Airguns took a look at it and fixed it free of charge. Super nice guy and his store/warehouse is an airgun enthusiasts Disneyland. I did end up walking out of there with a DonnyFL suppresor. Thanks everyone!

its the best in the business i have encountered...

i called in and there tech called me back about an issue with a

magazine indexing problem on my wildcat mk2 .30 couple months back.

he was very experianced with this problem and told me the fix.....

i did it and all has been good ever since.
