FX Wildcat trigger problem

I ordered a new wildcat from Utah Airguns on black Friday, and received 2 days ago. Package looked good and gun looked good after I opened the box. I aired it up and put a swfa scope on it and took 4 shots to zero it. I proceeded to shoot 4 full mags through it before I had to go to work. Saturday morning I got it out and headed for the squirrel woods and it didn't take me long to shoot 3 grays squirrels, however, I noticed that the safety does not work and I'm thinking that the safety problem should have been noticed before shipping. I took the stock off and screwed the little set screw down just a little so the safety will work, no big deal. I'm loving this gun and the 25 really thumps the squirrels. Today I get it out of the safe and it will not cock. After playing with it a little bit I notice that if I slide the trigger forward with my finger, it will cock, so something is causing the trigger to stick. I take the stock off and it works good, so it has to be something with the stock. Well to make a long story short, the back stock screw is too long and hitting the trigger linkage. I shortened the screw and now it works perfectly. Just wanted to point this out in case anybody else is having a similar problem. Easier to shorten a screw than send the gun back. If I have any more problems, I will add to this thread. Also, I am not knocking Utah Airguns, I was very happy with how the transaction, communication, and quick shipping went, and would do business with them again. They even texted me pictures so I could pick out the walnut stock that I wanted.
 
this has been a crazy ? with different answers that make no sense ,,so here we go ,,i also bought a wildcat from UA JUSTIN is awesomeMY GUN IS PRESENTLY at aoa air leak bummer 3 months young leaked from day one we tried everything so my safety also didnt work ,so i called talked to austin he said its supposed to be that way what it cant be so i pm mick va here knows his stuff good guy has several wildcats and bobcats he said they all came with no trigger wowi think no trigger wont allow u to cock the gun if the clip is empty so it can be a pro or a con i made it so my trigger works its not just us theres so many storys back and forth on thiss subject ,,to me a safety is a safety point blank pat

My WC did the same thing. I took it apart to make a small adjustment to the trigger. But then when I put it back together, the trigger wouldn't work. I would bet money that I swapped the 2 stock screws and the one being longer was blocking the trigger.

When I got the gun back from AoA it was working but the trigger was not right. I adjusted it myself and now it is fine. I'm going to check the screws and see if one is longer. Also going to put them through the stock and see what they look like. I want to find out how this is happening.

The wildcat safety can be engaged only when the gun is cocked, it was made that way. Not sure if this is the issue you guys are having with the safety, just figured I'd mention it. I never liked the way my wildcat trigger felt, it could be set very light but it always had a kind of mushy feel to it.

I have a wildcat and impact. the wildcat had to go in for regulator repair. impact, I just had to work like hell to learn how to shoot it. in all they are great products but I think with all the YOUTUBE hype we bought into it. I think you can buy an air rifle that shoot just as well for half the price. but I still wouldn't do without my FX's

I had this happen with another one of my guns. I adjusted my trigger perfectly where I wanted it, but when I put on the stock it the light rubbing the trigger had against the hole in the stock was enough to stop the trigger from resetting. I drummeled the hole slightly bigger and stiffened up the trigger adjustment a little. Works good now.

So I have been kicking around the idea of an Impact or WC for some time. I have two Daystate Renegades now one in .22 and an HP in .25 I love the light triggers. But I hear so many issues with Impacts and WCs what would you all go with? I have shot 10s of thousand of rounds thru my Daystates with only one minor issue with the .22. Any thoughts would be appreciated, I want to stay with something bullpup style. Thanks

Triggers on my Wildcats have been flawless. Did adjust them to my liking. Safety adjustment is really straight forward. It just keeps the trigger frame from moving. To tight and it won't engage or will drag. To loose and it will fire while on. Watch Ernest's videos. I can see where installing the longer stock screw in the short stock screw position would cause a problem. Wasn't aware that the short screw in the long screw hole would even engage the threads. Problems are a real inconvenience though. Least with good dealers you know it will be taken care of. Good luck. Sylvan

Seems like theres quite a few problems with these FX rifles,,,,i see alot of post of quality issues with them.Perhaps this is why they hired Ernest to help alleviate these quality issues or is it a case where there just not made very robust?.I certainly would not want a brand new rifle to have any problems,,,especially when your paying between $1000-$2000 for a new toy.

Update: Got the WC out of the safe and it is still cocking and trigger is perfect. I took the long screw that was at the butt end of the stock and tried it in the forward position and it bottomed out before it was in the countersinked part of the stock. It was too long for both positions. So apparently somebody put an improper screw in this at the factory. It was annoying but an easy fix and I am thankful I didn’t have to send it back.
