Recently put a vortex spark red dot (2moa) on my .22 Wildcat. The accuracy is amazing. the target pictured was shot at 60 yards, 1 full mag (18) shots. most are touching the quarter. At 25 yards I have been grouping inside a dime. Great walk and stalk gun weighing under 7 lbs. Im shooting the JSB 18gr. @885fps.

Pretty good with a reddot. I would need a magnifier as my uncorrected eyes are not what they used to be. Primary Arms has some good prism scopes that help with astigmatism for close in shooting. I have an SLX 1x, 3x and a couple GLX 2x. The 2x have solid glass and work like a magnified reddot. 3x is about as high as you can go and still get close range focus. Some have complained about the 5x losing focus under 25 yards.

I've never been a fan of red dots on pellet guns since most of our targets are small, like sparrows and squirrel noggin.
I have a red dot on my 12" AR pistol, but that's obviously a CQB rig and meant for 2 legged critters with much larger kill zones.

I definitely don’t think the red dot will be a problem for you at all. Nice shooting

vortex makes a magnifier that flips up or out for quick use, I haven't tried it. I have a 1-6x24 athlon for more precision shooting but I'm digging the dot at the moment. 1inch spinners are easy at 30 yards.

I have the Vortex micro 3x magnifier on my duty rifle with a holosun 510c. I have tried holosun and primary arms magnifiers. All about the same but the vortex offered a very good view and decent mount. It also works with the eotech style flip mounts from aftermarket options.

ALL...depends on the "dot" size/diameter. Sounds like this is what you are using, a larger diameter.
Many cheaper red dot sights have larger dot diameters. Like a 5 or 6 minut dot size.
That's WAY...too large.
If you get down to a 2 or 3 minute (or even a 1 minute) dot size, they are MUCH easier to sight with ! Then on some sights you can get a "chevron" or upside down triangle. You put the point of the chevron on the target !!!
Doesn't matter if you are hunting an elephant or a sparrow !!! On the same matter. If you put the dot below...the smaller target, you can STILL see the entire target. Just remember that that's the way that toy set up the aiming !!

If you can do that at 60 yds……a squirrel head is larger than that group. I have a .25 wildcat 2 . most shots I take are 50 yds. Or less. How/ what range do you zero it?

Great shooting, but with my eyes and what I shoot at my scopes on my Impacts are set at 10x and very rarely go lower. But for the heck of it I might try a dot on my Notos.
