Fx Wildcat

It's pretty awesome for a hunting setup, anyone on the move. The synthetic stock is lightweight and balance isn't bad. 40 shots in the .22 and 45-50 for the .25cal. Cocking is comfortable and easy usually, only thing I like alot better is on my Wolverine one can easily tell how many shots are remaining. It is really tricky to do this with the Wildcat.

Scope clearance is a non issue. There are aftermarket home-grown accessories now like magazine holders. Refilling is super simple. After the new trigger parts mine has been great (crappy 1st gen rack and pinions replaced.)

The trigger pull on a stock setup is not awful just not amazing as it is done through a series of pins and was over 1lbs 6 oz when I got mine. Out the gate you wont get that match-grade silky feel like a Daystate (oooh so nice). But Ernest got mine to 9 oz and she's breaking consistant now with enough feel. The trigger can be canted to the side like those Olympic rifles.

Regulated is nice helps with the overall accuracy. JSBs in 15gr I got 924fps and 18gr JSB 897, 900fps. They shoot the best in my .22cal. Guys using .25 report 905fps with 25gr ammo. H&N Baracuda .22 21gr does well at about 824fps.

FX is probably the oddest outfit I have run across. Basically whichever dealer you get it through is the go-to for service. There is alot of info on here from great guys that will come in handy like O-ring sizes and parts.

Good luck, get one, tons of fun.

Thanks for that review. I am new to this forum, at least I have not been on in a long time, who is Ernest? Some reviews complain about getting the magazine indexed properly when inserting. Has that been a problem for you? Does it have a single or two stage trigger. ANything less than two pounds doesn't seem to be a very heavy pull, based on all my powder burners. You mention the crappy 1st gen trigger, has the trigger changed now? Thanks for the info.

It's a 2-stage trigger. Mine's like silk and not crappy at all. Adjustable. Here is an excellent how-to video for adjusting, but mine was excellent right out of the box and I'm not gonna mess with it.

Yes, the mag is a bit -but only a bit- tricky to index. I'm getting the hang of it though and if I figure out how to verbalize my methodology I will come back here to explain.

MAGAZINE HOLDER:

FWIW to my fellow Wildcat owners, I would like to give a thumbs-up to a bit of kit for the Wildcat that I've tried and am VERY happy with. The mag holder mentioned in the seller's video (Below) is grade-A in my opinion. Works great, looks great, and reasonably priced. I can't imagine any Wildcat owner not being pleased with it, and I'm very, very picky.

I considered buying that magazine holder but I use those openings in the stock all the time when I'm handling and carrying the gun around. I wanted something that was totally out of the way and also more towards the Wildcat's center of gravity so I came up with these.

Thanks for the info on the trigger. Sounds like it has been a major improvement.
