FX Fx2000 fill issue

I am trying to fill an FX2000/tarantula. I have a scuba tank and it's flat empty on the gun side.

I have tried cocking , the quick blast of air and it's still just rushing out the barrel.

What else can I try?
-Put a pellet to block the transfer port?
-Block the end of the barrel with a plug ?
-lightly tap the action to get the valve to close ?

Cant recall specifics, but I had the same issue years ago on a Timberwolf (two shot shuttle version of what you have) and I ended up needing a new valve stem/seal. I did a complete reseal while I was at it and it's now held up fine for several years now. Cant be of more help. I tried the couple drops in the fill port, but I'm thinking the issue is at the valve seal and would take a bit to blow that oil all the way down the tube to reach it. In my case (if I'm remembering right) the seal on the stem was cracked so no amount of silicon was going to fix that.

Hi bud
Your best bet is to strip it down and eradicate the problem with the poppet valve.
If the gun is still on original orings it will need sorting anyway.
These are not to hard to work on.
On the plus side they are super accurate rifles and well worth keeping hold of.
Spend a bit of money and it should be good for another 20 odd years😁👍

@shayes22

If you are going to reseal the FX2000 as @aroundlocks has suggested, here is a reliable source for an O-ring kit
Make no mistake!
This is a recommendation.
I have purchased from him many times

Got it Bud?

Hope this helps
Edward

I actually ordered one from there last week. I figured it's going to be a rebuild after I tried a couple things. Thank you !

I have a seal.kit on the way, it's a beauty of a rifle. I paid $275. The thing looks barely used. I figured after 20 years or so it would have some issues

Hello, I'm a new guy on this site. I have an FX Tarantula from the early days. I bought it from AoA when AoA was a tire shop. You read it correctly. AoA was a tire shop that sold FX airguns. Mine was purchased in 2002. It's soon to be 23 years old. A few years ago, I sent her in and had the seals replaced. It's likely as accurate as anything out there today. I was shooting it this afternoon at 50 yards making half inch and smaller groupings. They are excellent, very accurate guns. Still as beautiful as the day I purchased it.

It sounds as if a new poppet and seat are what you need.
Probably pays to make sure the associate parts (spring, spring guides, etc are ok)

I have a Tarantula, but have not yet had a need to tear it down so there are others on AGN that have more experience with the TX200 (and AG in general)
Hopefully someone will chime in
Poppet spring. It's been compressed for who knows how long. I stretched it slightly and it now moves freely.
I took the gun apart two or three times. This thing is so simple to service.
