FYI Pyramid Airguns Has AV compressors available

"crittahitta"IMOLD do you think anti freeze is ok? I wondered about that too. But i was nervous about using it in case the hoses and such weren't made for it? Let me know how it works and what temp your compressor gets up to after ten minutes of filling a bottle. Thanks.
Antifreeze is fine it acts as a lubricant and keeps the lines clean, I found some more water so I just filled it with straight water for now and used a universal compressor oil, I need to look but I think it was a straight 20w on the bottle, all it is is a low foam oil and allows contamints to settle out I believe. I haven't done the test run yet but I'll do it tomorrow and post what I observed as far as heat goes. Did I mention that it looks Awesome.

Congratulations, air independence, what we all need to really enjoy the sport.

Reference keeping track of service and fills.

I keep all my info Hour meter, oil and filter changes, what tank i filled, start pressure to fill pressure, how long it took etc.

I also try have been able to fill tanks at the coolest part of the day, last time i filled 3 tanks was about a week ago when it was actually 45 degrees in the garage.

When it is warmer, as it is now i will also run a 20 inch floor fan that i have in the garage on the compressor and wait till early morning when it is coolest.

I keep all of this information in notes on my phone and a spread sheet.

Compressor Daystate 2.

Ok so it's the 4th and I'm just getting ready to do my test run of 10 min, have a towel under the release valve it's plugged in and now it's just a matter of turning the water pump on and then hitting the fill switch, I'll use the fill chart in back of the owners manual for now to keep track of run times, haven't seen or read anywhere on adding a hour meter to this unit, can a person just wire a hour meter into the run/fill switch ?... Anyway kinda have a bit of anxiety turning it on for the 1st time hahaha think it's from all the anticipation of getting one.

So I just did the 1st 10 minute(12) break in run and the the 1st thing I noticed is that it's about as loud as my 6hp oil less compressor,I walked back to our bedroom and with the door closed it was still somewhat loud but I could hear tv ok,wife might not like it but oh well, then the next thing I observed was the water tank was only down about 1/2" so that seemed fine and the last thing is the temp, it was running around 42.5c to 43.8c, it would fluctuate witch I suppose would just be from the water flowing through the system. Also I bleed the system about every 3 minutes and only a drop or two of oil came out the 1st time the other times it was dry and also I had a paper towel around the female foster fitting and that was totally dry after the test run, so now.
My 1st impression is that it might be a tad quieter on a solid floor like cement being it did vibrate on my wood floor causing more noise then I think it really has but I'm not putting it in my basement being its pretty humid down there with the block walls although it is a lot cooler down there, so now my next item on the list is to fill my 74cf Air Venturi tank to 4500psi and see if the shut off works and how long it takes then I will top off my 90ci tank to 4500psi from 3400psi and see how long that takes.

lmold, I believe installing a hour meter should not a big issue. Most of hour meters I saw at amazon, have a very wide voltage operation range, you just need to attach it to the place where power is getting to the air pump or switch if there is a possibility to use neutral wire, using ground/body might be a dumb but workable option.
As soon as I get my compressor I will definitely take a look into it to see what's going on.
My further plan would be to add a wifi connected computer board (raspberry pi or some other arduino ARM board) to broadcast temperature, status and track runtime + possibly remote control + camera in case of something goes really bad(this is kinda naive a little).

I have my ac on but it's still around 71* being I just turned it on and it's 82 outside with a good humid breeze coming off the lake, right now it's running at 66.7c and it been running for 25 minutes filling this tank, everything seems to be fine, took 15 minutes to hit 100BAR on empty tank and right now I'm at 150BAR after 25min run time.

I should add that it is sitting next to my walkout sliding doors where the humid wind is pounding so it's a bit warmer here then if I would move it into one of my other rooms in the house, I know my computer room is cooler then my living room where it's sitting now, I do plan on moving it to the computer room but just a bit lazy right now hahaha, it's at 175bar now.
I have been bleeding it off once and awhile and it's still not spraying any water/oil out, still looking good.

Ok so I didn't have the shut off set quit right, it shut off at 42-4300psi, my fill time from zero to(will say 4250) 4250psi took 55 minutes 1:45 to 2:40, the tank was warm to the touch, a bit more then room temperature witch is still 71*,when the compressor shut down the temp of the compressor was 71.2c but dropped to 69c in the bat of a eye and then dropped down steadily, I did a few more bleed offs with more oil/ water spray and when I bleed the system off after the fill it left a good size spot on the towel, about a 3" spot. All in all I'm very happy with this AIr Venturi Compressor and I see my pellet cost going up rather fast hahaha.
I would definitely put this compressor in a room away from where you spend most of your time indoors,I did walk into my kitchen a few times and it's a open floor plan with a small wall between living room and kitchen and it was noticeable quieter in the kitchen and I could hear the kitchen tv just fine, could easily have a conversation in there...But I will be moving it into my computer room witch has no doors and it will be just fine sitting in the living room watching tv or just talking....Now will just have to see what time does to this compressor but for now I would say buy one you won't be disappointed and for the cost it's great.
15 min to 100bar,
38 min to 210bar,
55 min to just a hair under 300bar and the ending temp on unit was 71.2c.
i did adjust the shut off a bit higher and will see if it shuts down at 4500 now when I top off my 90ci tank in a bit.
Remember this was done on a 74cf tank so I'm sure times will differ on bigger or smaller tanks and Guns.
