Gamo Coyote fill probe

fill probe finally came today, zeroed it with 18gr JSB and it shot a 10 shot ragged hole slightly bigger then the end of my little finger.. BUT! man did that trigger suck,2nd stage you could fall asleep squeezing it. I cut barrel band off and used screw from it to put in back trigger adjustment screw, screwed it within 3 or 4 threads of all in and trigger was still safe, now almost zero 2nd stage creep and guessing it breaks a little over 2#.. its going to make a nice squirrel hunting gun now.

I changed the screw in My Buccaneer and it was a completely different trigger. The screw normally, 8mm long changed to 10mm was recommended in other threads. I was surprised at the accuracy of the BSA barrel. Mine was in 25 and lacked velocity needed in that caliber and still shot ragged holes at 50 yards. With just about anything from 25 to 33g. I would have purchased an Urban but wanted a semi auto. Urban in IMO is the best all around PCP for the money. They should make one in 177.

Messed with coyote trigger some more and have it adjusted to where its breaking at 1.9# and seems to be perfectly safe, banging on butt of gun and cocking gun no inadvertent firing going on. The gun is impressing me with its accuracy, shoot off my deck rail just resting forearm on railing it will put 8 out of 10 shots in a ragged hole the tip of index covers with other 2 being pulled by me a 1/4-1/2 in out of group.. from a bag rest would do better but I shoot the way I hunt generally which is with hand or arm rested against a tree shooting a squirrel or freehand. Did blow a English sparrow up the other day at about 12 yds, all that was seen was a big cloud of feathers.

Just bought one waiting for it to arrive. What kind of max velocity are you seeing with 18.1 ?

I haven't got to chronograph it any yet only had it a couple weeks and either weather has sucked or havent had time.. believe previous owner said he was getting 880 fps with 14.3 gr pellets but may be wrong.
Should easily do that. All depends on hammer spring setting. I used to own a gamo urban. Same gun but with a 4” ( I believe ) shorter barrel and it would do 880 with 14.3 on max HS setting. Coyote should do well over 900. It would shoot 18 gr just under 800. I figure the coyote should do 840 ish. I was just curious. I will let you know if I get to it first. Thanks man.

I have mine set now to do around 880’s with 15.89. It seems to very much dislike crosman 14’s which my gamo urban loved. That really sucks. For whatever reason the coyote changes poi across the shot curve much more than my gamo urban did. No idea why. The velocity variation when filling to just a hair below 3k across 2 mags is only 15-20 fps but poi shifts more than my urban did. Gun really needs a regulator. I bought this one used but I have seen them go for 450-525 new. Def not worth even close to that. Tomorrow I will clean the barrel and see if that makes a difference. Recently PA got a shipment of these in and they sold out. Now the coyote isn’t even listed on their site so I suspect it has been discontinued by gamo?? Oh well, so far the urban was a much better shooter for less money.
