Something lighter weight with a good lifetime warranty is best. This is kind of where the heavier pellet thing comes in handy too. Heavier pellet = softer shot cycle (usually) which will prolong scope life and keep it from sliding on the rail/in the rings. A good one piece mount is handy too. You don't have to spend a fortune there either. Those $15 UTG mounts on Amazon work great on piston guns.
Long story short, break barrels aren't like anything in the firearm world. They're finicky but there are lots of little tips and tricks out there that when done properly will give you an amazing shooter. I have more than a few that will keep up with a rimfire out to 50yds or so.
got it today , day later than said , as for the scope oving , impossible , it has a tang that fits in a hole ,not a fan of 3?8 weaver but it is what it is and that tang was a pleasant surprise
as for the scope it came with , also surprised ,feels nice , great clicks on the adjustments and smooth , clear for what it is , im not giving up on it out of the box , i mounted it , its canted from the factory so i will have to mount in the bench vice and break out the leveling kit and square it up but im optimistic it will be fine ,but in case it does get wonky i pulled out a illuminated LPVO , and a Sig small caliber scope from the filing cabinet , both have 1 inch tubes so i can swap mounts , old take offs from upgrades
raining cats and dogs and blustery so no joy getting to play today , but the rifle seems well made and im feeling good about my purchase so far , i did pop a round off from the back porch , trigger was better than i expected as well
