Gamo Swarm raise speeed

I bought a Gamo Swarm 10x 0.177 canadian detuned before having my arms licence. Now that I get my PAL (permit) I would like to do something to raise the speed of the Swarm not to have to buy a new one. I was wondering where could I buy a ram piston kit to change the detuned or if somebody know how could I do to increase the speed. Because I live in Canada I don't have access to a lot of places who sell parts or airguns. Thanks for the suggestions.

I also have a Umarex Forge 0.177 which is only 490 fps, is there a way to increase speed to it? I think this one has a spring, I neved had seen parts for Umarex. This one is very accurate.

I don't have an answer for you but would like to ask: How does it work in Canada, if you get a license / permit, can you just add another firearm to it or must you go through some procedure for every firearm you buy?
Here in SA we must do the whole licensing thing for each and every firearm and air rifles bigger than 5.5mm.

I think Google is your best bet, there's a Canadian airgun forum and lots of chatter on this topic all over the web, unless someone here knows the specifics on your airguns. I think your pistons are either weaker or of a different length to lower speed, look around for a replacement. I think some increase the port size on the Gamo, you'll have to research that.

I have been searching on google since weeks ago and google haven't been my friend. I haven't find anything about tunning a Gamo Swarm, as I told now that I have the right to have a rifle of more than 490 fps I would like to tune at least one of my detuned rifles instead of wasting money in a new one. I want to use it for the pests in the farm.

You need new pistons, the Gamo info on that is plentiful, the other I don't think so.

I've read of a few ways companies limited springer power. Weaker springs, longer pistons to limit length of stroke, a hole in the piston so aor would escape through the hole when firing and reduce power.
As Air King mentioned, you may well just need the full power spring and standard piston. Problem is, unless Gamo has changed, they don't usually sell parts to customers unless they're sent through a firearms dealer. No clue how they might to anyone in Canada if they even will.
Maybe try calling or emailing retailers in Canada that sell and repair Gamo rifles and see if you can get the parts through one of them??

Replacing or repairing a piston is tough and you can get injured doing it, Pyramyd works on Air Venturi pistons, I've read that some Gamo models can run them.

over at GTA. He tunes Gamo. He might have specific information about where to get seals, spring, spring guides etc and how to take them apart.
or search specifically for his old postings on Gamo.

I just ordered a new Gas Ram in Australia, I know it could be the solution hoping it is the right part for my Gamo Swarm. Here in Canada we the honest people are very restricted about the arms so, you don't find anything easy. But bandits can have whatever they want and use it agains you. Sure, they don't need a licence to get an arm.

I don't have all the info because I have never bought other thing than my 2 airguns no permit needed (less than 490 fps). But I know once you have passed your cours for use and security of fire arms, the federal police had made an inquiry about you, you get the permit for non restricted fire arms. There are only certain arms you can buy (it doesn't include a pistol or revolver, that needs another kind of permit if you work as gard or you are in a shootind club for hand arms, means you need to take another cours and ask for another permit).

You can buy hunting arms like a rifle or carabine, you only need to show your arms permit and possibly your drivers licence. You cand have several if you want, no need of another permit. You can't buy a semi-automatic arm like and asault rifle, those are not permited in Canada.

Maybe a cnadian hunter can answer with more detail but in essence is: we are not allowed to get military arms, there are not a lot of places where you can buy the non restricted arms, there is a strong push to cut more the list of arms non restricted.

Thanks very much I will keep it in mind in case the part I ordered in australia is no good. I found a youtube about how to take apart the Gamo, the person who sells the rams explains how to do it. I have hight hopes it will works. Thanks very much
