Tuning Gauge measurement difference

You have done nothing wrong.

Yes, it is normal for the small 25mm inexpensive gauges to be off a bit although I think 20 bar is pushing it. One of mine was off 40bar so I replaced it with a Huma like you. These gauges just give you an approximate value they are really not that accurate.

The larger 28mm Huma gauges are more accurate and easier to read as well.

I would also add that it is not that important if the reg gauge is +/- 10 bar off. Most gauges will usually read the steps right, meaning if you increase, or decrease reg pressure say 5 bar, most gauges will show you that difference (as long as the scale has small enough markings). If you want to know if your reg is set to high or low, it will be a more precise method measuring the max speed of the gun with a chronograph, and adjust reg or hammer according to that read out.

I just did the same thing. My Compact was being a pain in the butt on a recent trip, the gun was embarrassing me. When I got home I had 2 Huma gauges that I purchased when I got the gun but never put them on. I always thought I had my reg set at 150b but with the new gauges it’s at 140b. This is why when people ask for your settings, I won’t give them. It’s because gauges are wrong. I’m not saying it’s bad for the guns owner. It gives you something to record your OWN settings, but worthless for someone else with their inaccurate gauges also. A lot of gauges are off at least 10b one way or the other, that’s a big deal when tuning a gun off some other guys numbers.

Thank you for your answers. I stay calmer. It is logical that the larger the gauges and the more marks they have, the more accurate they are. In this case they are 23mm too small. In weapons that are worth more than $ 1000 and with an adjustable regulator, it would be good for manufacturers to put quality and easy-to-read gauges like Huma, Wika ... I wouldn't mind paying a little more.
