Crowslayerxxx,
Bought a Gen 1 Gauntlet in .25, last April, because was budget-friendly with regulated air. Gun is long and heavy, no way around that, but is an accurate performer. The "Gauntlet guru," Hajimoto, designs and offers upgrades that transform the gun considerably. Seems with Generation 2, and now the Gauntlet .30, UX integrates Hajimoto's upgrades, to some degree, with each model. So, to answer your question, the later models are better, in my opinion.
Prices on the Generation 1 seem to be dropping, recall an unverified ad for $265 recently, so find a deal and visit Hajimoto's website for desired upgrades, if you prefer. Pay more for later models, with Hajimoto's upgrades already included, if you don't want the bother. If you plan on using sling carry, Generation 2 has a much better design, as well as a more uniform, lighter stock. WM
