Gauntlet 2 / Dragon claw 2

Well, only have a Gen1 gauntlet and wont guess. Now on the dragon claw (did have one but never took it apart) I would think it is just about the same as the original "44 big-bore" 909. If so, degas (naturally) use rubber mallet or wood block and hammer and smack the heck out of the barrel band towards rear -this help with taking spanner nuts off- remove spanner nuts, remove barrel band and simply pull barrel off. May be a bit stuck on the o-ring at breech nipple but it pulls right out. Remember this is your golden chance to replace the o-ring under brass cover that you cant see.
You might as well strip it down all the waay (easy) and remove valve. If valve is (still after all these years) not slotted down the sides do Do slot, mill, drill, whatever you have to allow more air flow. An aftermarket valve stem would be nice also. Drill valve exhaust to at least .27 -which is the restriction size inside the receiver nipple the barrel slides over (measure yours and see). That should give you 30-40fpe more power.
And, have fun.
