Gauntlet .22...should i?

🤔been debating on target gun or hunting gun....
My research is pointing me to the gauntlet for my price range..
Then I saw the have a 2.0🥴
...but idk if i want to hand pump THAT much(and about $100 over what i could probably spend)👀
im pretty much after a gun that will hold enough air for a match(ive seen they only shoot like 50 to 70 shots? Is that accurate?)and i was thinking i needed like 200 for a match? Idk any and all comments are welcome!🤗
What's good/bad?
Help me out?
🤣🎩🤙

There is a gauntlet 22 on ebay for 220 or so, do that and get a gx cs2 compressor for under 300. Disregaurd, not actually a great deal. Lol,

I'm thinking the gauntlet is just as good at punching paper as it is at hunting?...but idk how this target rifle would do for hunting lmao...

So, pumping. Pumping a regulated gun with a big bottle isn't a huge deal. As long as you're above the regulator setting, you're getting good shots. My Guantlet 2 in .25 caliber gets around 75-80 shots per fill before it drops off the regulator. Assuming the 22 gets even more shots, you won't have to fill very often unless you're doing a lot of groups.

It's just as easy to keep a Guantlet 2 topped off as it is to refill a G1 with a 1/2 size bottle.

However... I have heard that the Avenger Bullpup in 22 is insanely frugal on air per shot, and it doesn't even have a large bottle. The rumor is somehow it's even less thirsty than the regular Avenger. Might be one to consider for your purposes.

Little.over my current price range but it is noteworthy for sure👀🎩🤙

$220 ebay? Hmmmm.. i think id do PA at $229 and all coupons and promos are good on one . Play them right and maybe get one for under $200 + you got PA easy return policy too boot.

you can always hunt with a target rifle ,but some hunters are not suitable for target work .
This assuming the target rifle is 8 or 9 FPE
With a 14.3gr it should be about 7.7ish.ft-lbs.
🤔making me lean more gauntlet now that I've done some.math lol
The target one sayssss 200 shots...
Gauntlet is claiming 60..
Buuuuut that's at 900 fps.with a 14.3gr making 25.73ish.ft-lbs
👀👀👀
Oooo 🥴

With some effort, practically any “full power” regulated PCP can be downtuned for target work. The question is mainly whether you want to do that…some mix of lowering the regulator setpoint, reducing the hammer strike (weaker hammer spring and/or lighter hammer), and/or reducing the porting. Or instead go with something more specifically designed for the role like the aforementioned T200.

If you’re leaning toward something in the class of the Gauntlet or the Avenger, I assume you are aware that either one will be rough around the edges in stock form. Otherwise they generally seem to have similar potential in terms of accuracy, energy, shot count, etc. The roughness comment isn’t a knock, just a recognition that something with this many features at a budget price point won’t have anything approaching high class workmanship or precise fit and finish. If you want those things, you’ll have to do it yourself. And you should want it because the end result is worth it.

As I see it, these two platforms have so many similarities that the key differences can be delineated with just a few points:

Avenger
+ Externally adjustable regulator (or can be a negative if you are careless and damage the seat)
+ Lighter weight; sleeker appearance
- Regulator has a spotty record (both creep and nonlinearity)
- Loud for a shrouded airgun; needs baffles or an external LDC
- High fill pressure…though of course you don’t have to fill it all the way to the max

Gauntlet
+ Simple construction; easy to work on
+ Time-proven design based on the QB78 / QB79
- Like holding a 4 foot long 2x6. Recently pressure treated and still wet.

Now it depends what you hunt and what kind of targets your going to shoot , paper target "one hole " might go with the target rifle , don't you have rifles that can hunt the animals you want ?

The target one I want is ALSO based on the QB platform🥴

I doooo...🥴
Now I'm leaning more paper puncher🤔🥴🤷‍♂️
