Gehmann magnified scoring gauge

this gauge has a very thin edge at the top, if this lip or edge covers the target ring it scores a 10 or X meaning you nicked the gray ring so it counts ? correct ?

Yeah, the lip stays on top of the paper. It makes it a clear line

yes the lip covers the line , but my eye says i missed, the line looks like it was hit by sandpaper and most of the line is still seen .
