So I'm just going to throw it out there: I started with a Yong Heng. It lasted less than 6 months of light use, during which time it completely failed and was repaired (by me) multiple times. Eventually I just got sick of it. Obviously experiences with YH compressors vary widely, some people swear by them and some people swear against them. What I will say having disassembled my YH down to the last nut and bolt, is that it is fundamentally built to fail. This goes for both the mechanical elements and electronics package. So I just want you to go into this fully aware of the fact that a YH is a disposable compressor, "branded" or otherwise. Or, to put it another way, expect that you'll have to either repair or bin it at some point not terribly long after buying it.
As far as the "genuine" vs. "fake" Yong Heng compressors, I've seen a variety of interesting arguments made however I'm not entirely convinced by them. Below the second stage many "fakes" seem to be otherwise identical, and when you're buying from China really what the listing says vs. what you receive there is just no guarantee. Some people here may have a specific listing they bought from where they got what they feel is a "genuine" example, however having worked with Chinese manufacturers for years I'm not convinced that the factory on these are actually different. It is possible, if not likely, that they're all manufactured in the same factory to different intentional "grades." This is all fairly standard in the Chinese manufacturing world.
All of this isn't meant to be an argument for or against a Yong Heng, just trying to provide you with my very limited experiences and knowledge on the subject.
