Get a Chrony ?

I've been an AGer for quite a while. I shoot pretty often and really enjoy the hobby and a pretty good Springer shooter. I've even tuned and repaired my guns. My question is....is it really rewarding to get a Chrony and does it make the shooting experience more enjoyable?..I know the advantages of knowing fps and ft/lbs, but is it a worthwhile investment for a non competitor type shooter?......Ya know what, forget these questions. I think I'm going to use some Stimulus$ And go ahead and get one😁. Thanks for hearing me out👍😉

They work for springers by letting you know how pellets do after cleaning or a modification and if the performance of your gun is actually changing or not. Additionally you use them to enter data into Strelok and know the trajectory data for each new pellet you use, right up front. While all this is good to know, they are an absolute necessity for PCP where you can check for regulator creep and bell curve tuning. It would be so frustrating and time consuming to not have a chrony that I wouldn't even enjoy the sport now, without one. Money well spent.

They are great for tuning PCP’s but I’m in the dark on how it works for a springer?...

I had a chronograph long before I got into air guns. For powder burners you can determine how consistent a particular ammo lot # is. For break barrels by knowing the velocity you can use a ballistic calculator to come up with a dope card.

Congratulations. Now don't shoot the chrony!!!

That's one of the nice thing about the FX chrony...

I think having a chrony (or having access to one) make sens.

  • It's good to know the velocity of a given airgun
  • It's good to double-check the velocity of a given airgun every so often, it will let you know that everything is OK. Or of there's a velocity drop, that something is NOT ok.
