Getting Labradar to work with airguns

I'm just got my first PCP, a .22 Avenge-X, and wanted to use my Labradar, but am having issues.

I set it to "pistol", set trigger to "doppler", projectile weight to "21.1 gr." set it to arm for "240 sec." And got it to pick up some shots, but kept getting erroneous readings, for example, fired a 10 shot string, it recorded 38 shots, many with ridiculous numbers like 328 fps or 1702 fps. > was able to delete many of these and get an idea of where it was shooting, but there's got to be a better way. I don't have a microphone attachment, how do you guys get your Labradar to work with airguns?

Our gun club has a Labradar chrono, and I got it to work with air rifles without the mic. But, it's been so long that I can't remember the settings I used, sorry. It seems that I might have not used some options that you would otherwise choose. I didn't find it very user friendly, at least not with air rifles. But, I may not have given it a fair chance. I now use a Magnetospeed for indoor testing, and a simple Competition Electronics ProChrono outdoors.

It's not the LabRadar, it's the environment you are using it in. In the manual it talks about having a clear field of view there's too much stuff too close to the unit.

Doppler radar chronographs are active sensors that put out a lot of energy to detect (reflect off of) small, fast moving projectiles. That energy is broadcast in a fairly wide beam and anything it hits will reflect all kinds of weird signals that can confuse or even blind the unit. Putting a backstop or pellet trap directly in front of and too close to the unit will definitely cause problems (don't ask how I know that). I don't use my LabRadar or FX Pocket Radar indoors.

The LabRadar has two power levels with maximum being default, you might want to try the lower power.

Good luck!
Cheers!

So had the same issues as you. No mic trigger and when I set the unit to arm it just started to record shots... using back yard not inside

change my settings to the following and it was fine after that
Power - low
Trigger - doppler
Handgun setting
Trigger set to Trigger 1 sensitivity

Put unit back in middle of airgun with barrel suppressor in beam and basically next to barrel. Did not miss a shot or read funny readings randomly... don't want to fork out money for the mic Trigger...

Could not see why it would not work but happy it is now..
