Not all scopes are for all PCP's.

I have learned that in order that you can get absolutely comfortable with each rifle you have to mount on it an appropriate sight, a scope or a red dot sight.

How heavy you feel the rifle is really important for the use you want to give to such PCP.

No matter if the rifle is a top liner, expensive or a budget one. You need to feel absolutely comfortable when you shoulder it. And the scope or red dot sight that you decide to put on top has an extremely important rol.

So.... Don't you dare to think that just because you have a super rifle and you bought a super scope, the rifle will feel really well... You will have to try if the final feeling is the one you are happy with.

True words.... I've spent a bundle in search of that "perfect balance" trying to find the right gun with the right glass.

I swap scopes around some but it isn't always to help the gun feel better to me. I took off a PA 4-14 to install a PA 4-16 not for the magnification but to get an illuminated reticle on that gun. The gun is my P35-25 tuned up to nearly 50 fpe with one of the potential targets raccoons. I put some slightly lower mounts on my P35-22 today to help me get a firmer cheek weld but the scope is likely to stay on that one. I think the 6-24 Veyron fits that gun well. The new mount is not too low, it may still not be low enough. I'll use it for awhile and decide.

I did not change the scope on my Prod recently but I did modify the stock to raise the cheek rest.

I have one model scope on three different guns. Why adjustable mounts or having a selection of fixed ones is important. Maybe the size and weight aren’t necessarily a perfect match but I find having a scope I really like more important.

Lighter is better for scopes and rings IMO. I use single screw BKL dovetail rings on almost all of my rifles. I like smaller, lighter scopes from Hawke and Optisan and I really like the layout of the reticles. I have a couple of Arken scopes for a .25 cal FX and a .30 cal Paradigm which use the Arken rings. My Daystate Airwolf wears a lightweight March scope with BKL rings. I also have a PARD night scope I can mount on a variety of rifles. It uses twin screw elevation adjustable rings.
