Brocock/BRK Ghost collaborative data request

Great! Good info and thanks
Tony do you recall what caliber you bought your ghost as? Wondering about the spring
The 30 was bought as a 30, the 22 carbine was bought as a 22 carbine. I do have a spring kit and used the black spring in the 30 for a while. I am not sure why I took it out. I will be testing the 30 soon with the tensioner on it also.

@pesty3782 what tension"er" are you referring to ? and thanks for the info.

Here's collaborative update (to today 9/6/24) i will continue to update as people provide more specific info:
Tuning the GHOSTS
Modified Ghosts w/ .177 barrel (17 inches, 12 land and groove, choked, 1:17.7)

From AOA YouTube:

23”barrel, .22 jsb, JSB 18 gr, white spring, reg at 140
Pwr wheel at min = 495 fps
Pwr wheel at medium 10 = 645 fps

I shot some 8.7s out of my new Ghost this morning. The regulator was factory set about 150 bar by my poor vision up close. The wheel was set to min. The pellet went sonic and spooked a neighbor's horse, even with the moderator.

I adjusted the reg to about 100. I'll try again tomorrow.
Shooting that light of a pellet at that reg pressure = one hell of a crack.
Suggest reading the previous info on .177 tunes

Here's a .22 Youtube video to enjoy:
My results for a .22 HP 23" Barrel "Multitune" for 3 different pellet weights was similar to AimSmall on you tube.
.22 Barrel @ 23” Multi-Pellet Weight(s) optimum balance tune w/o spring or reg change.

White Spring, Regulator set to 115 Bar.

This is a great one barrel multi pellet weight tune and maximizes air usage. NOTE: older springs/newer springs may vary FPS results in addition to 3-5 shots to settle when changing power wheel setting – remember to only adjust power wheel with breech closed.

They these and only adjust the Power wheel as below using the pellet weights listed.

Min PWR 15 Gr at 895

Med PWR 18 Gr at 880

Max PWR 25 Gr at 870

let me know how your .22 behaves with this setup. I installed a new spring.

@cavedweller,

Been considering a similar experiment, but with a slight shift down in pellet weight. Curious on a somewhat midweight .22 pellet weight "tune" using the 13.43/14.35/15.89/18.13/20.83s.

And mostly interested in how it'll behave with those pellets while using the same 105-110bar reg pressure that the gun needs for a 19fpe .177 "tune" for field target.

Been mentally planning on doing the above and sharing the results, but also comparing the impact points when going from the .177, .20, and .22 barrels.

Rudy, do you happen to have the wire diameter of the "white" spring you're using?

@Franklink i can take a micrometer to the white spring? never thought to.
Tuning wise, I think you will find when you jump to the 16 gr or 20 gr weights you will need reg pressure at 115/120 to take maximum advantage of the pwr wheel, at least with the white spring.
With the Blue spring the lower weight diablos will move too fast (IMO) and you wont have the same amount of worthwhile adjust-ability on the power wheel; oddly i even saw some diminishing returns when i was only using 110 on the reg... i didn't see the same adjust-ability i got from the 115 reg pressure (new spring) this was true in my 17" carbine and my 23" HP ghosts in .177 cal as well.

This is kinda cool, esp looking for that sweet spot for multiple weights. the .22 pellets seem to have the most choice / variety.

My rationale for those pellet weights in .22 is simply because I've got a decent supply of them and don't have a gun set up for them right now. For 30-35fpe I prefer .20 over .22, for the ballistic superiority. And for competition with the .22 I'm more into the Monster RDs at 50+ fpe. So my guns are set up that way, leaving a "hole" in the midweight .22 realm. But I've got quite a few tins of those midweight .22 pellets and might as well shoot em before they get oxidized up.

Yes please, I'd be curious to know the wire diameter of that white spring if you get a sec. I've got the "medium" and "heavy" weight springs from before the color coded kits. "Medium" being 0.047 and "heavy" being 0.051. I've also got a green? but haven't ever found a need for that heavy beast in my .22 and under endeavors. It's in a box somewhere so I'm not positive it's green, I just remember it being much heavier than my other two springs so I've never installed it.

Probably will not have a chance to put a micrometer on the spring Sunday 14 Sept. as I’m preparing a couple of people for a Saturday shoot.
