The air rifle that started it all, carried by Lewis and Clark during thier adventures. Came in .46 and .51 cal, 4 ft long and capable of shooting at 1000 FPS and putting a ball through 1 inch pine at 100 yards. Loaded with 20 balls and hand pumped could shoot 80 times on one bladder which was also the butt stock. 1500 pumps were required to fill each bladder.

I could swear the originals filled to around 800 psi and made around 100 FPE.

950 fps with a .46 round ball is around 280 FPE. How many of the 20 could do this speed? If it was a significant amount of them...

Well what did they know that modern big bore makers don't is all I'm saying. To me, 20 shots at anywhere near 100 FPE is hard enough to believe.

I'd like to see a modernized version. Make all the components capable of 250 BAR, add a removable picatinny rail and if possible make it capable of feeding and stabilizing slugs.

Make it so that you could run it in its traditional form at low pressure with iron sights and round balls, or charge it up to 3500, mount an optic and have a rifle that is on par with modern big bores.

And I saw the hammer price plus buyers premium. More than I want to spend but would be awesome to own and shoot.
Every time I buy an airgun with palpal it goes through my wife's debit card. She would be glaring at me for that one!
I wouldn't trade my wife for anything in the world. I will listen to cash offers!

You need to get your own PP and signup for PayPal credit. 0% for 6mo on anything over $100. And most air gun vendors accept PP.

Now you may also look at getting a lawyer too. Wife may get super mad at all the new toys rolling in every few months. lol
