Purely from an experimental stance, I wonder if they could be shimmed up slightly with something like plumbers tape or maybe just a little surface coat of wax.

Have any of you tried the JSB 16.2gr pellets? Or the 13.43gr RDM? I had an experimental Huben K1 in .177 and the 16.2gr Beasts did the best in it. Might be worth a try.

To update on my ammo choice experiments. I received my GK1 177 pistol a couple days ago. Been experimenting to see what fits well and from everything I have tried the 13.43gr JSB Redesign and the 16.2gr Beast both drop in and can then be seated snuggly with a little push.
(I know there's always been a debate over whether you should seat ammo in the Huben magazine. I don't want to drag that convo back up, but my experience has been it helps with consistency)
I've done some testing at 10 yards shooting the 13gr Redesign @ ~750fps and I am pleased. Not sure what speed I'll settle on but I'm not looking to turn it into a powerhouse and would prefer a more mild tune I can get a few magazines per air fill.
As others have noted all the slugs advertised as .177 or .178 just slide around in the cylinder. I do hope we get to see a ~.181 range slug from someone.

Hopefully huben comes up with the huben peanut in .177 to acomodate this, otherwise it makes no sense in oversizing the mag when this didnt really turn out well for the .177 K1 platform

Pellet's not fitting in the magazine? User error. GK1 is flawless. (/sarcasm)
Joke aside, maybe V4 will address this.
The magazine should have a means of lightly pinching the ammo, something in each chamber should 'spring' or the tolerance should be much tighter. Carm magazines for example have a means of pinching the ammo, its quite clever.

I did some experiments with thin ca glue applied in tiny amounts to a reamed hole. I used a microbrush and just ran it around just below the rim (past the taper). It was the difference from not tight, to just right. I'm working up the nerve to try it on my GK1.

Curious to see how that turns out. My concern long term would be any type of "shimming" rubbing off with each round through it.
I will say I am blown away with the easy power of the GK1. Still messing about a learning the pistol. I'm about 1 1/2 turns out from where the pistol came tuned and pushing the JSB Redesign @ 930 fps for ~26fpe. 26 fpe in .177 is beyond the ability of many rifles and this tiny pistol has much more in the tank. (once I refilled to 300 bar I put in some 16.2gr and they chrono'd at a ridiculous 980 fps for 35 fpe!!! WUT!!?!!)
I'm hoping for some ~15-17gr slugs that fit well. Someone's gotta be able to do it.

JaceSpace: My thoughts are the GK1 power will be so great in .177. Imagine shooting 16gr .177 at full speed! OMG! That is going to the the ultimate (long range) target pistol.

I'm really interested in this set up as a carbine For my son. I don't want a lot of power 20 foot pounds is plenty or a little more. I'm hoping the RDs and the beast shoot good at distance for you. If you can push them in and seat them like they suggest which I do in my K-1 in 22 the accuracy is better and more consistent than just pushing on until they flush with your thumb. I'm not interested in the slugs until we can get the right size. But I've hunted with the 13s and the 16s beasts and have always been impressed with Their effectiveness for shooting birds and squirrels. I wish JSB would come out with a Hades in 13 grain. I think the key with what little I've had my K-1 is a snug fit on the pellets in the mag that you can seat

It's tricky shooting in the backyard during the weekends - too many neighbors outdoors and stuff. I'll try to get some longer range shots beginning of the week. Right now I'm using a pistol scope on it so it will be shot as a pistol off a rest.

Cool I thought about keeping it a pistol since I was predominately a pistol hunter for years for squirrels and deer with PBs and might still but for my son it will have to be a carbine. I've got some Burris and leupold pistol scopes setting around I could throw on one if the little gun shoots good.

My initial experiments with this made me feel it wasn't worth the effort (compared to knurling). Especially since I'm using NSA's hollow point slugs. Hard to coat them without clogging up the point (or at least clogging it consistently). I'll admit I'm a novice powder coater so YMMV.

How do you got about coating them? I imagine you'd be able to seat the HP on a toothpick and then bake them
