Yesterday was a beautiful day. Sunny, 70f and just enough of a breeze to keep the flies away. It was a fine day for a FT match. Knowing what was coming for weather today, yesterday's weather was bitter sweet.
We were already at today's high temp of 39f when I woke up this morning, with the temperature drooping to 35f by match end. The winds were also a mostly constant 17mph out of the ENE. At the most inconvenient times they would switch, though that's par for the course. The lanes were all facing due east, making reading the almost head on, but not quiet quartering winds tricky at best. Only four of us showed up, and thanks to the low numbers we were all able to relax, have fun and learn a lot about fowl weather shooting today. So even with the cold and constant winds it was enjoyable and educational. Thanks you Leo(gonsav71) for holding the match and thanks to the other two shooters for being there. Here are a couple more pics of the shoot. I woulda taken more but, well, you'll understand.
Edit: To clarify the score card a bit I started on lane one, a standing lane. Lane 5 was standing as well. Lane 10 was kneeling. Right now if I try to close my knee enough to sit on my heel it feels like the knee is going to explode. None to pleasant so I took the shots standing. I recovered on the next lane seated with a clean. Then the three lane meltdown due to unneeded rushing and a return to calm for a strong finish on the final two lanes. A challenging and fun match for sure.
