GMI Press and Dies

Anyone who not heard of gmi slug swageing dies " I can tell you now they are second to none.
They are incredibly well engineered to super fine tolerances and price wise are incredible value for money.
So even if you have their basic dies you know you are getting quality.
As with anything the preparation is the key to the overall quality of the slug you swage" ken has fulfilled his part in the making of the die.
Most importantly: how those slugs coming from GMI dies are performing ?

That's a valid comment.
Like most shooting you need to test. Unfortunately test slugs aren't available. So you experiment.
I'm fortunate to have a few barrels in .22, a .217 23.6 grain GMI slug works well in a evanix, LW and RTI barrels. Tested out to 135 m.

Unfortunately I don't have target pictures, but I haven't bought any slugs since I got the swage kit.

Currently I'm wanting a .177 GMI swage, simply waiting for feedback from UK testers.
A sub 12 ft lbs slug swage is on test, apparently. Yes I also like lower power challenges.

Apologies for no target pictures, after suffering a stroke earlier this year I have to rely on natural targets, stones, pebbles, fruit on trees etc.
Immobility hinders a lot but much satisfaction is attained by shoot something you made yourself. Life!

There was a lot of accuracy testing data put up on gmi forum with some stunning results by members who had bought dies and swaged their own slugs.
The accuracy from these slugs is top drawer if made and used correctly as it's not a one size suits all barrels .
So you need to experiment with different diameters of caliber and shape of base and hollow and grain of slug to find what works or not for you "simples"

Well, We do make all the dies same. Meaning the die that Patriot Outdoor uses for their Javelin slug ( 2 RMAC titles, 1 NRL world championship winning slugs ) is made in same way as the regular SOC, Slug master or Freedom Die is made. The difference is in the Ogive and design rights. Now we are improving by becoming better every week!

So, We assure its MOA or sub MOA groups at all the distances, but that's applicable only for FX slug barrels as I have worked with FX and team on projects such as Halo and other developments.

Typically the LW barrels and mid powered PCP's do work with acceptable results upto 70 yards, the limiting factor being low power, pellet twist rate and barrel geometry. The crux here is balance and design. The 2S slug ogive is a dud here, while GMI's hybrid ogive is more forgiving with barrel contact patch and adaptable base punches. the beauty is in tuning and finding the balance with different punch types and hollow point depths.

The goal is to provide innovative and superior technology that is both accessible and works as intended.
