Go Brocock Ranger XR or Ghost...?

Spoke to AOA and they apologized for not first offering to send me an "in stock" rifle vs me waiting for the back and forth. So it should be shipped today, and I emphasized the squirrel hunt. Also, the Vector Optics Veryon 4x16 IR arrived today. Glass is definitely better than my old 3x12 Veryon.

So once the Ranger is in hand, I think I am going to move forward and put the Uragan Compact on the auction block for a Ghost. Also, I have a serious case for Brocock committing copyright infringement because back in June I called my Subaru Outback Wilderness (Redneck Edition) "The Ghost", plus before that the Prophet was "Glimmer" and the Uragan "Shadow". I suspect someone I converse with a lot here on AGN, who is also a "Brocock Disciple" has been feeding my naming ideas for naming guns to Brocock. Don't deny it you know who you are!

@SorenDrost Thanks and that is SUPER impressive and yes, it is a plan but for now things are resolved.

So who wants an Uragan?

I wish😁!

Jsar raptors, war flex, RAW, Air Force etc… I know your already going to start bashing so I’m sure you never owned a jsar so don’t even open your mouth about them, yes they had problems in the past with customer support but since the business got a new owner I never had any problems with customer support, they always answer my emails asap and ship quick also and that will be your first comment probably that jsar sucks. second I know wicked air rifles are no longer in business but I chose to keep them in my arsenal awsome platform, you can’t have any negative things to say about RAW rifles so don’t go there.. I was sucked into the fx marketing in the past but no longer have any, my choice.. if you choose to be a fx marketing fan boy then so be it.. and those are just a few of American made rifles, do your research there are more

Dude, I'm not bashing anyone or any brand!!!! Definitely not an FX fanboy by any means. It was just a simple question with no bad intentions. Take a serious chill!!!!

Go with the ghost. People make errors. AoA is 1st in class, my experience. Hard to match or beat the level of service they provide.
That has been my experience,as well, thankfully.AOA is the only reason I even feel fully confident purchasing guns.I know they have competent gunsmiths and stand behind their warranties.

I have a Uragan in .25 caliber that I shoot both pellets and slugs - which it does both very well. My .22 Ranger XR also shoots slugs very well and I was able to consistently hit a 6 inch metal target at 200 yards with both rifles. Unfortunately the targets are at a public range so I could not tell "where" I was hitting them to better adjust my aim. At 100 yards I can but 10 rounds in a dime size hole with either gun using slugs. That is also with using a bipod on each and my arms on the rear, so that's about as good as I can do. I really enjoy both guns and would not want to part with either. The XR Sniper let's me adjust the power easily for backyard pesting where as the Uragan would be too much

Dime size 100 yard 10 shot groups, huh? I dont buy that for a second.
Would you buy it for a minute then?🤓 I’m sure @Pfddi, was being over enthusiastic and overstating the accuracy at 100 yards quite a bit... Most shooters understand that 10 shot groups under 3/4” at 100 yards with any air rifle is probably impossible.

Here's the target. Do I do it all the time? No. On a good bench rest position taking out as much shooter as possible, these groups are possible. I was lucky that I didn't have a flier on this one! As I say often, the guns are much better than me! If I just use a bipod and support for the back of the stock, I don't get this group. Thanks to grandma, and dad, I have essential tremor syndrome that only affects my hands, so most of the time I have to squeeze between jerks. My point again was that these guns are damn accurate!

Ok.I will certainly believe it has happened. Thanks for clarifying.

@Ezana4CE That was a 5 shot group. I put the small BC target over an existing target at the range and none of the shots outside the small target were mine.

@Pfddi And to be sure I understand you correctly, you’re saying you shoot the gun pictured below accurately out to 200 yards as stated in the quote below? Also you’re saying that you shoot dime-sized groups at 100 yards?

Well, right now I have the Ranger, and I am waiting to hear on the Ghost. The Ranger is a good "near field" gun, like @L.Leon has done with the Atomic. If I was back in Idaho or can find larger permission in the area, the Ghost range might outshine the Ranger.
@Blackpaw, as you, yourself know. For Close quarters hunting/pesting…? The Atomic XR is a sweet/superb CQHP PCP. In .22 it generates approximately 17-18 FPE at the muzzle. Which, with proper shot placement is plenty for most critters up to wood chuck size out to 40-50 yards. In a good shooters hands? I’m sure the Ghost would double that distance. BRK’s are solid PCPs.
