I’m talking about shooting those wily 4 legged critters, not something you do at the bar!
So I’ve seen videos of people hunting hogs on YouTube with air rifles. There’s a guy who took a bunch of them with a .25 Air Venturi. He dropped them all with one shot one kill placement, but I’m sure he’s extremely proficient. How realistic is it for an average hunter to successfully and ethically take down something like a hog with an airgun, let alone a .25? How about a .30? This was in Texas mind you where it seems you can kill hogs whenever and however you feel like. Not sure if it’s a legal take method in California.
I know there are a lot of variables (and legality) to consider, and I’m sure people aren’t really going after hogzillas. Is airgunning the ursines really viable or more of a novelty?
