Jsb 15.9 or the 18.1. Should make gun happy. That's a keeper. Ery nice.Glad to hear such affection for the FX Tarantula. Mine is a 22 caliber model purchased almost 20 years ago and has sat in my safe almost the entire time. I recently brought it out and had is serviced at Pomona Airguns before Steve moved. The gun has less than 100 pellets down the barrel, so it remains in pristine condition. The scope is an old Baush & Lomb 6-24 with front parallax adjustment and a simple cross reticle.
Going through old guns in the back of the safe I took out this FX Tarantula and a Feinwekbau FWB 124 springer in .177. I just ordered lubricants and New-FWB 124-127 Pro Mack Kit-Max Power from Air Rifle Headquarters and plan to get this old timer working again.
Coming from a precision rifle background I wanted to try out todays modern air rifles and ordered a .30 caliber RAW HM1000x LRT (no shroud) in red and look forward to finding a good pellet and slug combo.
I'm going to buy a dual regulator so I can tether the rifles to help with testing the RAW HM1000x and my FX Tarantula. I'm mounting a Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 F1 with an illuminated Tremor 3 reticle using a Spuhr mount.
Pellet recommendations for the Tarantula are welcome.
