Do you think the vibration will be bad for the filter? I want to get a filter for my AV compressor but im thinking the constant shaking might be bad for it. Even though it is not a violent shake but it is constant.
I purchased the gold filter with the activated charcoal, ,molecular sieve and desiccant inside rater than the cotton. It's not clear to me which end goes toward the compressor and which end goes toward the tank or gun. Also, is it better insert the black device that comes with the YONGHENG containing cotton between the compressor and gold filter or between the gold filter and the tank or gun?
2. Small filter that comes with YH goes between Compressor and Gold filter. It’s not necessary, but if used, I would use it as a pre-filter. Easy to change out the cotton every couple of tank top offs.
Thanks for the input guys. Dennis, looks like I'll be going your method or close to it. Not many options unless you mount it off the compressor which would eliminate the vibration to the filter.
Dive compressors have air filters built in and don’t have vibration problems. It is nothing to be concerned about. I recommend attaching the filter with hose clamps over a protective strip of rubber in between the clamp and the filter. It will dampen vibration and protect the finish on the filter and the post that it is attached to.
@eddie, Humdinger can set you up with a much better internal filter system. Your OK to use the supplied tampons until you get his. You'll need to remove the caps and send him a internal tube measurement along with a pic of the cap threads. We found out that mine was different than others.
Or send Humdinger a link to the ad for the filter you bought, he'll know if his internal filter will work or not.
I bought the latest Tuxing gold filter and send him a link with the question on whether his internal filter would work or not since I was about a week away from actually receiving teh filter. He said yes, I ordered one and I had his filter the same day the Tuxing filter arrived!
Eddy1840, connect your compressor's air output hose quick connect to the male foster on the input of your gold filter. The hose on the other side of the filter then connects to your tank or rifle. The gold filter just needs to be inline in your system between the air output of your compressor and your tank or rifle.
Thanks, Duster and Dennis for your kind words. I make desiccant only or desiccant and carbon filters that specifically fit Xin Yong Shi and Tuxing filters. Surprisingly, they have different internal diameters. Tuxing gold filters sell in two different end cap versions so vary in internal length as well. I make cartridges that fit each variation for a correct fit. Several are available on the classifieds for anyone interested. Here is a photo of some which are available. A Xin Yong Shi is 1 mm larger in internal diameter than a Tuxing so my filters are sized for each brand.
