N/A Good Handheld Shoulder PCP?

Hello all!

I've got two PCPs right now. An Uragan 2 600 with laminate stock and an FX Dreamline tactical with bottle. Both in .22
I've got a buyer for the dreamline and I'm thinking I'm going to let it go.
The thing is, I love my uragan to use mostly as a bench gun, but to use as handheld is just too heavy with scope fot hunting. I can use it, but is not ideal. The gun is 3500gr, with scope and silencer (Donny Sumo) is around 4500gr.

I'm looking for a really light but with some power in .22 setup to use on the go, but that is capable to shoot up to 80yards.
I could just use my Dreamline and adapt it, or I could sell and buy a new shorter and light gun.
I looked most into the Airmaks Krait (powerful, short and 2500gr) and to the BRK Ranger XR (less power, also 2500gr but should be really shouldable), but I'm open to anything really. The FX Panthera compact hunter also looks good, but a bit heavier.
I was also thinking of using an primatic scope like the Element Immersive 10x or the MTC to lower the weight, or a really compact scope like the vector veyron.

So, what setup would you guys sugest for compact shoulder hunting?

AV Avenger in .22, very light easy to shoulder, lots of power and accurate, they even have an Avenger Bullpup, I used to think it was a POS, when they first came out, but I finally bought one and it is actually a very good gun, they've worked out the bugs since then, but if you want to spend the money for a higher end gun, Look at a RTI Prophet ll or maybe an Edgun Leshy.

Any of the FX Compacts big three are amazing offhand walk around hunters. The Impact/Maverick/Wildcat make lots of power even in the short versions. The tube version of the Wildcat is the best offhand but really needs a light weight scope to have a nice balance. My current stalking setup is an Impact M3 Compact 22Cal with a 10oz Leupold scope, a Sumo, and some small accessories it weighs in at about 8Lbs. I get about 2.5 mags out of a fill ~80 shots of Hades at 980fps atm.

My favorite PCP for hunting - walking around carrying a gun hoping for legal game - is my P35-22 with has a Vector Veyron SFP 6-24 scope. The cherry stock I recently made for it increased the weight a little to just over 7 lbs all up. With the stock plastic stock it weighs about 5 lbs without scope. The Stoeger Bullshark is almost exactly the same gun but weighs a lb more due to the stock. The newest member of the P35 family is the P35X and a Remington equivalent the Spirit X. The P35 has a 450mm barrel, the Bullshark is 490 and the P35X is 530mm I think. The X versions also have a 60cc plenum which is much bigger than the P35. These are mid cocking bullpups that are regulated. The X versions have wood stocks.

I have my P35-22 tuned to about 32 fpe. It likes 21 grain H&N Bullshark Match pellets the best. It is my most accurate P35. It's given me one 200 on the 30 yard challenge. Shot count is about 70 if I fill it all the way to the 250 bar limit. I like Carm magazines but the SPA ones are usable.

I have come to realize that off-hand shooting is a whole lot easier with a regular design and not a bullpup, for me. Yes the bullpup is a joy to carry, but harder to put comfortably and accurately to use. Daystate Revere for a nice classic gun, or a FX DRS if you want even lighter with more shots. I don't own either, but I think about trying them all the time, for the same reason as yours.

I’m with @JimD
I like my P35 25 cal, even though it’s a low power 25. I think it would be perfect in 22 cal. I also have a Bullshark 177 and like that a lot. They have both currently swapped stocks. My Bullshark with P35 stock is shooting 13gr JSB at 22 FPE and is darn quiet with the little Huma mod.
The platform is very light and maneuverable. Having a cylinder I find it a little more stable as my previously owned bottle bullpups. Price to performance it’s hard to beat.

Never thought on the FX DRS, but I think you're on to something.
When I think about it, I have a better shooting experience off-hand with my 22LR (a Simple classic CZ) then any PCP I've tryed.
Thanks for the sugestion. Its even on the cheap side!

Its a great toy, but I have my doubts about the usability of a 210mm barrel at 50+ yards. I wanted something more substancial.

Maybe I'll just adapt my dreamline for compact.
The GK1 is next on my list. I suggest you do a bit more research on that platform, it is an accurate beast in compact form.
