Good heavens AoA! What happened?

"Marksman3006"I sure hope LN and EX dont mean "like new" and "excellent condition". I hardly consider busted and broken stocks as like new or excellent. Does anyone know what LN and EX stands for?

Good question !
Looks like they don't have a generic rating that applies to a truly "new" gun with busted stock
Copied from their "definitions";
  • Like New In Box (LNIB)In the factory box, with or without all the items included when purchased new. The condition is that of a new item from the factory. - 100%
  • Like New (LN)Item is equal in quality to a new one. Does not have the factory box, but may or may not have the paperwork. - 98%
  • Excellent (EX)Item is close to new, but shows slight signs of use. May have small marks in stock or action, but overall looks nearly new. - 95%
  • Very Good (VG)Item shows signs of use, may have scratches under stock or wear in the bluing. All parts are intact unless otherwise stated, and are in complete working order. - 90%
  • Good (G)Item has substantial signs of use. Stock may be scratched heavily, but is not cracked. Metalwork has marks and possible scratches. Item is in working order. - 80-85%
  • Fair (F)Item is functional but shows substancial signs of use. The stock is in tact, but shows heavy use. Bluing is worn through in areas. - 70-75%
  • Poor (P)Item may be missing or have broken components. Overall condition shows heavy use. Any function problems will be specifically stated. - 65% or below

"Ziabeam"Playing Devil's Advocate...
  • Marauder .25 Cal $530.00 Pyramid Air
  • Same airgun at AOA with broken stock $285
  • Replace with Boyd's stock $129
  • Savings of $116 and you pick your stock configuration
Sounds "EX" to me... (on my glass-half-full days)

Not sure if EX or not? You can order a new one thru AGN 25% off. So $539.99 less 25% $135 = $405. Unless you really liked the aftermarket stock?

People trade in their old guns sometimes. It might not have been anything to do with AOA's storage / handling of them.

Maybe someone who had an accident with their guns did a big trade in.

Or maybe it happened during shipping. FedEx have broken so many of my packages. You would not believe what they can break sometimes. I had a new laminator delivered a while ago with a solid steel 2" bar snapped clean in two. A delicate wood air gun stock could be snapped by a brisk sneeze in comparison.... Always double box!
