Got a new GravMag today for my 2240

Got a few items from Airgun Parts Shop in the UK today. 

First is a GravMag Compact with left handed bolt configuration.

Also, I wanted to try out the Iron Sight kit.

I'm very happy with the GravMag compact and the slimmer profile on the top of the 2240.

I wanted to like the iron sights, but I feel there is too much slop in the rear sight to keep it accurate. I adjusted it right where I wanted, but it was still a bit low. Went to adjust the elevation and then it's shooting 2" to the left. Nice concept but the execution's not worth the price. I even tried shimming the pivot point with 0.3mm total of shims but didn't help.

Just for kicks try shimming the rear corner edge between the steel breech and tube.

Worst case scenario you could bend your barrel to point it in the direction the sight sees (center the rear sight first.)

I messed around a bit more with no success and just went back to my 1 MOA Trijicon RMR. 

I gotta say I am really pleased with the GravMag though and the 2240 XL. I wasn't a big fan of shooting JSB 15.9 a few months back when I first got the 9S but I am getting 425 fps for 6+ fpe for ~30 solid shots. 

Not many power mods either. Well, I mean the Magnum Airpower trigger group helps keep the shots on target. Only other changes are an Alchemy AirWerks transfer port and Cothran SS single stage hammer. Pretty minimal.
