Got the Kratos bottle off…sort of.

I was able to get the bottle free from the action, but as you can see in the pic there is still this adapter connected to the bottle which will prevent me from slipping a depinger brush inside.

it was already really difficult to get the bottle off, and now this little piece seems all but permanently installed. I can’t tell if maybe that bit that I have circled in red is just paint, or if this is somehow tack-welded or glued in Place. I suppose I can get channel locks and try to wrestle it off at the flat collar/“cap” (though that might chew up my connector) but I want to really make sure I am not doing something wrong before I go brute forcing my way to a damaged gun.

what do you think, muscle this thing off? Or is there something I am missing?

Put a bottle strap on the bottle and the proper size wrench for that fitting marked in red

Thank you and also to the other member that mentioned the strap. I actually did get a strap last night, and that’s how I was able to get the bottle off in the first place. Definitely the strap is essential. I’ll try an appropriately sized wrench on the red bit next. I kinda figured tbh, but I just wanted confirmation. Heat gun might be a good idea. Thanks again.

Tell me about the depinger brunch and where do I get one

In theory, placing a piece of chopped bottle brush (for the kratos, ~62mm diameter I believe) inside of the bottle should reduce some sound of airflow inside of the bottle (the ”ping“) when it’s fired. I think this is more common on the long integrated tubes for air (like on the Marauder) but I’m still trying it out for the heck of it.

I certainly don’t want to break or damage the gun, but I got the Kratos at a price that I will enjoy tinkering with it and not feel like I am ruining anything by taking it out of stock config. If I had an Alpha Wolf I’d be too busy babying it and scared of a speck of dust falling on it to actually try modifying it and experimenting.

For maximum effect, clamp the handle of the strap wrench in a vise.

Good to see this thread.

Ive been meaning to do the same & going w CF. Aesthetics alone, I think the carbon bottle will be worth the effort.

Maybe even I'lllook into reg-ing too🤔
Happy to help. I hope to create a new thread, with an obvious title, and consolidate some tips/directions from various sources to make this finally easier and more obvious for folks in the future. Stay on the look out if you’re interested :)
