Got to shoot an FX Crown

Howdy all

I’m a newbie to air rifle benchrest and to this forum. I recently put my deposit down for an FX Crown in .22 with the green laminate stock with AOA. Now I wait and study up on aspects of benchrest shooting, scopes, etc. watching lots of YouTube videos.

Yesterday I went out to Rio Salido range to check out the monthly benchrest match and was lucky enough to meet Ben and Amy, Ben was shooting his FX Royale in the match and Amy was shooting his FX Crown in .25 at silhouette.

After I had told them I had an FX Crown on order Amy asked if I would like to shoot the Crown, which I could not turn down. It was a usual windy day at RS and there was blank a target at 50 yards.

The trigger was set light around 8oz Ben thought which took a bit to get used to, but I do like light triggers from my days shooting indoor 10M air pistol. I was shooting JSB Exact Heavy pellets I believe from the can (no sorting, weighing etc) and obviously the rifle was not set up for me.

With that said, the below photo is about 35-40 pellets at 50 yards with a sub 2” group. The ones at 9 o’clock were ones I pulled based upon how the muzzled appeared to move as well as a few to the right. I was aiming at target center, the wind was in our face and from the left a bit. My first shot was the one about 2 o’clock breaking the 9 ring and my second was a near perfect 10. Now I am even more anxious to get my FX Crown then ever as my only other air gun is a Crosman 2300s I recently purchased for plinking. Anyone know the appropriate offering to the or sacrifice to the Air Gods to get my Crown here sooner?
