In testing for big power with my .30 maverick it has come apparent that big long slugs is what it takes to make the most energy. And obviously the problem with that is they don't fit in a factory magazine. Simple solution is a single shot loader which I am using for my 80 grain slugs. However in my thinking it would seem that a small gravity fed magazine may be ideal for big slugs. In my opinion you would only "need" perhaps a 5 shot magazine for hunting and quick follow up shots if necessary. I would think something could be 3d printed or machined from Delrin to hold the longer slugs being made for the high power guys. Being gravity fed should make it incredibly simple and in theory, problem free. Anyone want to take a shot with a design?

There is a type of gravity fed mag for the crosman c02 pistol platform. I would start there for reference points

As I understand it this is the type of “magazine” used in the .457 Benjamin Bulldog. I haven’t read glowing reviews on it. But if you’re seeking ideas to create one, maybe take a look at their design and see what shooters are commenting on regarding their likes and dislikes with the design.
