I bought some of the Haynes silicone grease that was recommended in one of the write ups for the GXCS4 and my compressor started making some weird noises when I used it, so I cleaned all of it out and ordered some grease from Renewable Lubricants, it's supposed to be the grease that's recommended for Omega compressors...seeing how the Omega compressors have a lot of the same components that's on the CS4 leads me to think they are both made in the same factory. I got the new tube of grease today and used it in the CS4 and it definitely sounds a lot better now. This is just my opinion and take it for what it's worth....I think the Haynes silicone grease is too sticky for using in these compressors, the Renewable Lubricant grease is a different consistency and I think it does a better job lubricating this compressor.........

How are you liking the compressor? I’m contemplating buying one myself. Any negatives or positives you can add? Have you owned a yong heng and could compare the 2 units? Also wanted to ask what parts need greasing? Overloaded with questions I know..lol

I just greased my CS4 at 5.9 hours by rotating the grease pot knob 1 full turn clockwise per instructions.
Using the lube that came in the pot
There were no problems before or after the lubing.
It's (fingers remain crossed) running very well.

Not nearly as fast as a YH, but not expected to be, @Crabbypatties.

I really like this compressor, I mainly bought it for its 12 vol capability, being able to re-fill a rifle in the field. I do have a Yong Heng but the CS4 is way more quiet. I’ve also noticed that the CS4 has a lot better water separation than the YH, I put one of the tampon type filters on the CS4 and I constantly check it and after over 10 hours of use I have yet to find any hint of moisture in it. I do get moisture out of the bleed drain when opening it after a fill but have not got any in the filter on the feed line….can’t say that about the YH, but the YH is definitely faster than the CS4.
The CS4 has a grease pot on the top with a knob you are supposed to turn one full turn after every 4 hours of use, it injects the grease into the top of the cylinder. I have read that you are supposed to have the pump running when you turn the knob to inject the grease. I’m not really fond of the grease set up, I would prefer to know the amount of grease that needs to be injected and do it with a syringe at each interval to be sure it’s getting the proper amount. When I got mine, it only had enough grease for one full turn of the knob, that’s why I ended up buying more grease for it. Time will tell how long it holds up, but so far I really do like it.

With a look at the Target Forge website, one will learn that their cylinder lube is the same as supplied with the compressor.
And considered of high quality as well
The other lube (red moly)t hat they provide is an upgrade to the lubricant for the crank pin bearing and gear box
However, it does not say the user must lube those parts at any maintenance interval.
Hopefully specific info on the CS4 will be forthcoming

Hope this helps
