GREAT GUNS FOR < $1000

...there must be a dozen or more on the market right now...

...some might not even have a waiting list to acquire...

...I don't know if you could call the Cayden a "high end" rifle but but methinks it is a great rifle in an of it's own right, regardless of the low price I paid for it...

...one aspect that makes it a great rifle IMHO is the way a major American company adopted a proven platform and tailored it to address a number of American peeves...

...there certainly are less expensive rifles that have more "features"...what exactly is "high end"...???...

I have bought a couple guns that were over $1000 when they first came out but the price dropped to less than $1000 after newer more exciting models came out. Used is another good way to get a good deal on a higher end gun too. A person has to be patient though to find these deals and not every make and model will make themselves available at the bargain price points.

From what little I gather on the forums the new Benjamin PCP trio seems to be a good deal. Of course we have the "entry level" pcps that seem to be a really good deal but lack the refinement of the top teir brands.

Really even the older guns, unregulated guns and the lost and forgotten guns are pretty good too. If a person doesn't need the latest and greatest their are some fine rifles that come along for sale in the classifieds. Right now I would love to get a good used deal on a Daystate Huntsman. I don't need the new side lever or a regulator. Great rifles from what I have read and since the new stuff is out the old ones go for less $$$. Still a fantastic rifle.

When I think high end the first thing that comes to mind is the HW100. Superbly finished , great walnut or laminate stocks ( even the beech is good) super simple to work on. The best magazine system out there. Regulated with a good stable design with very little creep issues.and lets not forget great looks and accuracy. Sure it’s an old design , but as they say . If it ain’t broke ....don’t fix it.

...so does "High End" start @ $1000...?!?...

...most people I know would think of the Cayden as a high end product, especially for an "air gun"...

...it is certainly not more modern than the HW100...it is more like a Turkish copy of it, IMHO...

My son’s Zbroia FC550 with a power tune from Charlie at Georgia Airguns was only $980 shipped. The power tune gained us 100fps without touching the reg. or HS. Charlie also altered the stock so the HS can be adjusted without removing the stock. The gun is powerful, looks great, is super reliable, easy to work on, very, very accurate, shoots almost every pellet and slug well and is extremely quiet. For $880 or $980 with Charlie’s tune, it’s a steal!
