I found a green mountain 30 cal barrel blank and I was thinking about fitting it to my impact I'll probably just thread both ends
Throat the barrel? How do you plan to throat the barrel?
I come from a background of firearms and am relatively new to airguns. I have been thinking of getting a blank and turning it down now that I have access to a lathe. The throat on a firearms barrel is a portion where the rifling is bored out so the bullet can be seated in the barrel without excess pressure. When the powder charge goes off the bullet is pushed into the tighter rifled portion of the barrel that is generally at or slightly below bullet size.Throat the barrel?
I'm unfamiliar with this.
Is it something I may know by a different name?
Thank you! I'm just getting started on this journey any information is great. The common airgun analog for a firearm's throat is the leade.

I've found in certain other guns there wasn't a leade but if I thread it for transfer port fx style that acts as the leader
Turning down a barrels full length OD is definitely not rudimentary. Especially if you’re going to try for a perfect slip fit where it passes through the blocks. Go undersize and just use a front clamp. Depending on what you plan to shoot, you will probably spend a bunch of time juggling the leade depth and a projectile you hope will work. Make your barrel a little longer than you want because once metal is gone, you can’t put it back. Time to start over. How thick should I make it I was thinking about removing the o-rings in the receiver and making it a tight fit with out the o-ring I have a barrel clamp to so how thick should I leave it after the barrel holder ?
