Griffin LDC in 357 slug vs clay

Just got an M3 in 357 from Utah airguns.

Got some 71 gr Griffin dish base LDC slugs for coyotes. Bought a 5lb clay block to test expansion. Well it looks like I should have got 2. Never recovered the slug but wow look at that wound channel and you can see the poly ball left behind which shows the slug expanded well I think.

Pretty good this is a 4 shot group at 50 yards But

Something weird is going on…… after I top off my gun my gun shoots high Erratically on the first shot. After the first shot it stacks them in.

Any suggestions or guess?

It may be due to several things if the new M3 is anything like the older Impacts. It may be regulator creep, where the higher pressure causes a different point of impact. Have you tuned the gun in any way so it is using a lower power? Regulator Creek has mine shoot about 5fps higher at the first shot. That is not a lot of a difference in the intended point of impact, but it does potentially change the gun's harmonics with that first shot.

Also, are you leaning the gun against the barrel on a wall or the like when you fill it? The barrel system is full of o-rings and they can shift around, but then at the shot they settle back into the groove. I'd try changing the o-rings out to harder buna 90 urethane o-rings at the least.

I've been meaning to give the Griffin slugs a try in my Bulldog. Looking good!
