Good action guys! Your shooting off-hand is awesome! What general area in California are you hunting? What guns are you using and what are you finding the "spook range" in your area to be, roughly. Sorry for so many questions just comparing notes.
In my neck of the woods, I am shooting a .22 cal. Hw100/STB at abut 30 ftlbs. I've found that for the adults, the "SR" is about 65 yards, where as the juvenile's who haven't seen humans before pop-up within 10 yards.
Being a bit older, I rely on a modified camera tripod for a steadier rest. 100 squirrel days are not uncommon due to a target rich environment. Of course after a few sweeps through the same area that kill count goes down a tad, leaving me to hit another area.
Anyway, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind words,we were using .22 and .25 Marauders and a MK1 LD .22 pistol running HPA. We were able to take most of our shots between 65/90yrds. Agree that the juveniles are dumb and offer much closer shots. The area was near a lake on BLM land. We plan to take a trip again soon as I take a break from Jackrabbit hunts.
