The FX Maverick VP .30cal is handing out defeat to this young groundhog. If you put the round through the shoulder it is all over. Did you hear that wack when the round hit the shoulder?
Thanks so much! He took a heavy hit for sure, and perished seconds later.Great shot and video and yup, that's the sound of bones being crushed then str8 thru the vitals!
I am really impressed with their terminal performance, and I bet they still deliver results at your lower velocity.Love the 50 grain H&N out of my Uragan, though I’m behind you by about 80 fps.
It sounds like the recharge of some kind of space tazer weapon!I love the thwack, but I have always liked the sound of the regulator refilling on these FX guns.
Thanks a bunch! The Maverick VP .30cal has taken around 55 groundhog for the year, and most of them were DRT shots!Niceee!
Thank you! I had to send my scope back to ATN for service, so I have mounted up my Thermal Scope in the meanwhile, so we may get some interesting pesting videos coming up soon!!Wow! Utter devastation… definitely heard the shoulders breaking. You are a crack shot when it comes to those foundation wrecking chucks… Keep it coming…
Ayyyy you've doubled since your last post I commented on, keep rocking them! Thanks so much! He took a heavy hit for sure, and perished seconds later.

It zipped straight through. You can see all of the grass kicked up on the other side as the round made it's exit.Replayed it like 4 times to hear that "thwack"...did the slug exit or dump all it's energy into it?
With terminal performance like that, these H&N Slug IIs are gonna be perfect for raccoon season! The only 50 grainer I’ve caught, was after it blew a golf ball sized hole through a 4lb block of modeling clay. It exited, bounced off the cardboard backstop, and ended up at my feet.
They’re definitely tougher than the 43 grain Nielsens.
