Guess the slug.

Quality is slipping, across the board.

Shame, I personally like these baby slugs.

Hopefully this is a one off. Not my purchase, thankfully but I am apprehensive about ordering any more.

I'll not mention the respected maker, he is a forum member. 219967-bfd174ca0e32f30847129194e0421901.jpgZAN Slugs 1.jpg

Well I ain’t so discreet.
I have my wife’s M3 set up to shoot H&N 25 gr 22 cal slugs. The last three tins had 3-4 random chunks of lead included for no charge. I have never seen that with any other slugs I purchased. It is not as bad as what the OP has pictured, but agree that things are getting a bit sketchy out there with ammo makers.

I’ve noticed this too with multiple boxes and also with their 13g 177. Prompted me to check them thoroughly, because the “legit” one are so good in my guns. With the 10g, I found that the 400 box had 8 obvious mutants, a few of which were 1/3 size. The mutants were defective at either or both ends. I then took 100 of the ones that didn’t seem obviously deformed and weighed each one on a high end laboratory balance. They were extremely consistent. So, it appears that the problem is easy to deal with, although it would be nice if Zan would address it. Of course, this is all with the caveat that I might have had a “good”batch. What’s your estimate of the incidence of mutants in your batch, Spinach?

My first 4 boxes were excellent, no problems.

I ordered some more.
So far only found 9 or 10 mutants in the first box. That's enough to put me off.

Hey,

I'm sorry for that, sometimes issue like this happens, if the operator doesnt set things perfectly right. We try to eliminate those issues as much as we can. "Funny"(not that is funny) part is that there is also inspection control but seems like we will need to change people with machines, and we are working on it.
We always pack 2 pieces more in a bag.
Overall people are super happy with our .177 slugs, 10 grains might be pick with barrel but not the 13 grains, those are like lasers in most of the guns.

Zan, it's all part of life 😉. Things slip through.
I'm happy with the 10 and 13 grain performance, I've even installed a power plenum in anticipation of trying out the 16 grain.👍
