I am looking for a gun case that is long enough to put my impact in that I don’t have to take the moderator and kls1 off every time. Anybody have suggestions on what you have tried or bought? Would like to keep it in the $100ish range.
For a hard case I prefer Pelican or Pelican variants. For a soft case/rifle bag I carry both of my Impacts in a Hogue double or single rifle bag. Check Amazon for pricing on either. I found both my Hogue bags for $120-$160 versus what Hogue sells them directly and they work great.
If you don't mind used, there's always deals on Pelican/Storm cases. The only problem is getting a used case with the main foam insert already cut out. You might need to spring for additional foam inserts.
Hard to argue with those Planos. You can get the very similar case from Harbour Freight when they have the coupons, but the price isn't much different from the Plano linked above. They seem to be the two most popular ones I see people purchase and are happy with.
Now, you asked for a hard case, so after answering that portion, I will also add this. You may be set on a hard case, and I understand. I personally purchased a heavy duty soft, double rifle bag, and I use it, as it is a little more versatile. I purchased it when I had a Red Wolf HP, so it is way too long for my Impact, Uragan, or Pulsar, but it can easily hold a couple rifles and plenty of gear. It is pretty heavy duty and protects the rifles well. I never had a single POI shift using it for my Impact.
