Guns in your safe that you don't like

Same as MikeVV , my Cricket 1st generation never leaves the rack ; some reasons for that : despite all my efforts it doesn't shoot accurately . I don't know why since that gun had the reputation to be very accurate . It's also quite heavy and very loud. I tried a dozen moderators but it's still not backyard friendly. I put it for sale but here , in Belgium , nobody seems to be interested about airguns...:confused:

That gun was designed around the jsb 25.39g.. in factory tune it should be lights out .. but it will suck with anything else..unless power is turned up .. when turned up 34g mk1 worked good.. but they are not aviable anymore..as they used to be.. if your are using jsb 25.39g and it doesn't shoot accurately.. then is time to find a way to have it gone..

Gauntlet .177 basketcase, it worked just fine but took it apart to de-burr and polish contact points but just dont give a damn about it. (Offers?)

Xisico Sentry .25, stole the thumbhole stock off it, like the one above, took it apart and there she sits. The barrel was rough and like the gauntlet, it's just too heavy. (Offers?)

Too lazy to spend my precious time I could be shooting or casting to reassemble them or post them for sale, they just get pushed further and further back into the closet...

Mine IS...accurate, as noted in my original post. I normally shoot from 16 to 25gr pellets, mine seems to like them all. Mostly FX and JSB brands.
Yeah, a tiny bit heavy, but I've found it actually helps the aiming process, for me anyway. To be a little heavy vs. a little light, is a good thing.
I've got my power turned down to just over 800fps, plus a "chamber" (empty) on the barrel of mine. At that speed, and the chamber, mine's pretty quiet.
Also, still very accurate at that speed as I noted in my original post.

I...SHOULD...like it, right ?

Yes , we should ...Mine is tuned to about 95-100 Fpe , which is on the high side , I think . Moreover I removed the shroud cap and made another cap with a 1/2 UNF thread to put a moderator . I did my best with my lathe but it's maybe not perfectly in line with the bore , so a lack of accuracy is possible . I had to go to the shooting club to check this , because it's to loud to shoot it from my garden.

Apart from this.....a great gun :)

My Avenger sees the least use. It is accurate, possibly as accurate as my P35-22 but probably not quite that good. But accuracy is not a problem. Length is the problem. I just find my Prod and P35s (3) are more fun. Doesn't help the Avenger that it only likes FX or JSB pellets where the P35s are perfectly happy with cheaper H&Ns or in the case of the 177 and Prod, even Crosmans. But mainly it is just awfully long. It stays around because it is accurate and is tuned to the highest power. It is also MUCH easier to change it's regulator than the P35s.

Maybe you should try shooting a Kalibrgun , one day . I get 4 of them : Cricket and Carbine in .25 , Cricket and Tactical in .22 . These are great guns , very accurate and consistent ; only the loading system is a bit awkward. The accuracy of the Cricket .25 has to be tested on a bench without the moderator.

Really I cannot say I don't like the Cricket .25..... I should say I shot the other ones more frequently ;)

I hand pump so everytime i get a big bore it is the same way. I get tired of pumping it to shoot it. My other 3 are all, 60-100 pumps and ready to go for a few more mags. Ugh every big bore is 300-400 for 20 shots. Tons of power but, i only use them to hunt and larger pest control(coyote past 100yds) my Throne gets all the use normally, any pesting out to 100yds, coyote included. I keep thinking i want another pellet shooter but just enjoy slugs so much more.

The only one that I would buy is this one :

It is heavy, very heavy, but it has a normal way of functioning of magazines.

Look at the distance among the cheek rest and the butt pad. It has enough distance for the neck no to be contorsioned. That is very important if the butt pad is not adjutable.

The square shourd is abnormal and not stetically atractive.

The power is reduced compare to other model of KalibrGun.

As a conclusion, the model that I would prefer has a lot of.... "but" to decide to pay for it.

A Vulcan 3, for me, has all the "pros" and none of the "cons"..... That is why I have two Vulcan 3: one 700 mm in. 30 Cal, and one 500 mm in. 177.... And non KalibrGun.

I have a good number of airguns, 8 total, only one I don't like is the hatsan nova star. It's got some good things going for it. Heavily modified, stock re-shaped/refinished, over a pound in weight taken off of the barrel via 14.25" LW barrel, CF shroud. 80 shot string with 15fps ES, unregulated. But the shot cycle is harsh, and jarring, hammer ping is loud. And the trigger group uses a plastic housing. No matter how you adjust it, it will alway have a bit of sponge as the plastic flexes.

Honestly, I keep it because I got it for about half off, and I've spent way too much time and $ working on it. It's extremely accurate and quiet. So, I keep it as a backup. It is fun to shoot, but it lacks finesse.

I am planning to sell a couple of my guns, as I simply has to many. The choise is to sell my agt vulcan 2 tactical, wildcat mk2, or taipan veteran, all in .177.
They are all great guns in theire own, but I will probably sell my taipan, and my wildcat mk2. I will not say I doeas not like any of them. But here is the reason for my choise: The vulcan is the easiest one to shoot accuratelly from a bench, while the taipan in my opinion is the most difficult one. The action which is at the back of the gun is heavy, and have a tendency to sink down into the bag while taking the shot. To counter act that it needs a firm grip, or hold. Also since all my other guns are forward cocking, I do miss it while shooting it. The build quality is excellent, I just does not like shooting it as much as the others. The vulcan being longer can be shot with a loose grip, which is more relaxing. The wildcat actually is quiet easy to shoot, and accurate, but I miss the larger magazines my other guns have. So the 8 shot rotary mags I feel is a litle small.
So if I sell two, I can justify getting a wildcat mk3, or another gun:)

Hello Sir, I have the same rifle and in same cal. But, I am actually surprised with your experience. I had fiddled with mine fifteen to sixteen times initially to incr power, but finally settled at 135bar on regulator after installing Huma, now producing avg 918 fps/ 33.95gn (plenum installed).
BUT, THE CRAVING FOR OVER 70FPE WAS STILL THERE AFTER COMPARING IT WITH MAVERICK, VUKCAN 3, ETC.
This is the learning.... after studying a lot of comments, contacting Mr Charlie Frear and also buying a FX chrono.
"Cricket .25, with plenum installed, is best at max 132 to 135 regulator bar and HST tightening to achieve 918 to 920fps, NOT beyond that". No one who tinkered with this gun for MORE has ever been satisfied. Here is the perfect balance of accuracy, power, consistency and shot count.

You may contact specialists on this group as Mr Charlie and Mr Derrick ..... the Cricket can never be inaccurate or inconsistent.

Hoping for a try once more.
