Guns with the "happy switch"

Low power & low penetration BB's into the mid chest & again back is pretty cruel ... Burst at the head or nape of neck would have been far better IMO.
It is not that those who pest don't do similar time to time ... we just don't post it
The Blitz isn’t particularly low powered and it doesn’t shoot BBs. In .22 Pyramyd lists it as 36 fpe.
Not that that video didn’t look terrible, I just don’t think it was actually as bad as it appears.

i have a hatsan blitz in .22, its definitely 'on' when i hit the happy switch haha .. dont consider it extremly reliable but hey it is what it is .. id luv to have the .30 with the optional bigger mag oh yeah .. 'just because' :) .. check it out -->
I thumbed up your video. I see nothing unethical or a big deal. Damn I guess it’s a good thing Dana isn’t here anymore. He would probably get trashed for the latest coyote kill that didn’t die immediately and needed a second shot. Geeze how many deer I have shot with arrows or even rifles through the chest than ran and lived for many more seconds than that possum did. Was it just because it was full auto?? Don’t think it was bad at all

Don't own a Barra 400, but I have shot one. It's a well made gun, fun to shoot. About as accurate as you can expect from a smoothbore BB rifle. Good short range casual plinker.

I converted a select fire Marui Steyr AUG from 6mm Airsoft to .177 BB. It's an electric spring piston gun like the Barra. Machined a new .177 barrel liner, altered the gear ratio and mainspring to be better suited to the heavier steel BB's, and modified the magazine to feed .177. Works well. Accurate enough to plink soda cans on semi auto out to 20-30 yards. Getting around 500 fps with a full auto cyclic rate of 800 rpm. Magazine holds 300 rds, and I get around 4000 shots per battery charge. Uses an 8.4v NIMH battery pack. I'm very much a traditional springer guy, but a little full auto action from time to time is great fun.

My next project is to convert this electric 6mm Classic Army FN M249 to .177 BB.

You’ve got a business in this. Following

I think that full-auto is something that hasn’t really been explored very fully by airgunners yet. The fact that it’s legal for us, but not for most of the shooting community, that airguns are generally less powerful and generate less recoil than powder burners and are generally not defensive weapons means that it might have a very different utility for us than for other shooters. It hasn’t really been in common use by airgunners for very long now.

I have a Hatzan Blitz in 30cal. and I love playing with it but would never show it hunting in a video. The best way to get them banned or REGULATED would be showing them in videos like that. To me they have no place hunting or pesting in full auto. any more than using a full auto PB for the same thing. It always amazes me what lengths some people will go to wrongfully thinking they will impress their piers. I would like to think thatthe vast majority of guys on here find that video very repulsive

I find it repulsive. I hunt every year deer, elk etc.. and many smaller things with a airgun. One well placed shot is all you need. Only sometimes a follow up shot. The OP was out to make and kill to show off the fully automatic gun. Definitely the OP is not even close to a real hunter. Videos like the OPs give airguns a bad name.

I just can't see any good reason to shoot a possum. They eat ticks.

J~
I didn't know that. Ticks are a huge problem where I live. I haven't seen a possum here in years. I wish we had more of them.

Let's get something straight here. First off, I'm the OP here and all I asked for were opinions regarding the Barra 400E. 2nd I haven't killed anything since The Viet Nam war. alpha33 out.....
ANy post on here quickly morphs into something more then the original question .

I don't think anyone is blaming you, I know I'm not. What I believe has most people including me is someone doing something that is cruel like shooting the poop out of any animal and not finishing it off ethically and not even sorry about it. That is how most serial killers start. IMHO there is nothing wrong with an ethical hunting video. But the one posted on this thread was not hunting. Just MHO. guys. I don't think that is the kind of thing that should be posted here.
