That will take the $8.95 NOE sizing bushings?
Am I gonna need a RCBS, Lee, Lyman, would a Harbor freight press rigged work? I’m not competing or anything. Just looking to buy a bunch of different slugs and some custom bushings to size precisely for my needs. Like I found my .215” bore Benchmark will indeed send roughly sized .213” 29 grain Griffin RBT’s.
For sanding down slightly then pushing them through a .213” GENERAL Drill & Wire gauge index and shaving a 0.002” fairly concentric ring of lead off, getting some 1” groups at 75 yards tells me it’s gonna work.
I’ll need that 2” long .213” choke cut off. Leaves me with a 27” 2 L&G .215” 0.753” SS barrel that’ll LOVE 28.5-32 grain .22’s sized somewhere around .2145?” to .215”
Don’t know if many of you check but .217” is usually .21675” and .218” are actually closer to .21755”.
Somebody said it would be nice if a slug maker told him what slug shoots best in his guns. FX said they’d do that long ago before The Crown was ever released and that info still isn’t out.
Well buddy, you’re gonna need to have your barrels slugged, measured and either swage these darn good slugs closer to what your barrel likes, switch barrels, or buy something like that 251-52 Arsenal mold under .25ACP. I know my Sumatra will drill holes with those, especially if I powder coat any .249-.250”.
So I want to hit sporting goods store with gift card and see about a swaging press. Any help appreciated!
