Gx cs2 life expectancy

Hello, I'm curious as to what kind of life expectancy (total hours) I can expect from this unit. I bought it lightly used and so far its working very well for my needs. I'm just curious how soon I should be budgeting for a new one.

Secondly, what lubricant are people using for it?

Really, it's mechanical, no one can say. A guess? Several years if maintained. Grease? No need to get fancy. I use and compressor manufacturers recommend Renewable Lubricants Food Grade grease for the pressure side and any good chassis lube for the crank bearing.

Would this work for the pressure side? Also, by chassis lube, do you mean bearing grease?

I have two of them. My first one failed after 3 years, but I was abusing the unit, using it to fill SCBA tanks. If you use it for what it was designed for you'll likely get better results.

I intend to attempt to repair my first unit, but haven't had the time to tear it open.

I have a CS2 that I use to fill my PRod.
I have only used it 53 minutes so far.

Bill over at Target Forge ( https://targetforge.net ) carries parts and lubricants specifically for the GX compressors. He also has a great YouTube channel with many videos detailing how to work on the various sizes and styles of GX compressors. ( https://www.youtube.com/@TargetForge/videos ) Do a quick search on his YouTube site and you should find the information needed. BTW - I have been running a GX CS-3 for just over 4 years with only general maintenance and a re-lube just last year.
