GX CS2 On Sale- is it worth it?

Hey guys see link :

I have Prime and they have a 20% sale for $280.

I have taken things like this apart before (Nitro piston r/c trucks and actual cars) so I don't fear maintenance etc.

All I have is a bottle converted Avenger (~360cc ) and a Notos with plenum to fill. I don't really want a Yong Heng because it needs all that water hose stuff and I know the CS2 is only for filling the gun directly not buddy bottles so I figured should be good choice.

Just wanting to know if that's the deal I should be looking for and jump on it???

I use mine all the time. I dont like to rely on auto anything. I run 1-1.5 minutes on and 3 min fans, then back to it, keeps the temp down.

Does it do 4,000 psi well? That's what I fill my Avenger to.

What psi you get up to in only 1 or 2 minutes running?

Also I agree analog is gonna work for longer the only thing I wish CS2 had was auto shut off at desired psi. I mean, probably won't have to sit there very long especially for Notos so it'll be OK to manually shut it down but I dunno I wish it had a auto shut off too just in case. I guess thats why they make new ones like CS3 and 4.

I dont trust auto shutoff, if you even see one pop you would understand. Eventually i will a cs4 but currently i dont have enough time to worry.lol. i fill to 3k on my texan and 3800 on my katran. I take it easy on it for it to last.
Yeah bet it sounds like an electrical transformer blew when those burst disks go!!
I think even with auto off I'd be too nervous to leave the room. But I could be there loading mags instead of staring at the needle. Oh well auto off not a deal breaker really.

3800 psi sounds close to my 4k goal so that's good to hear.

I’ve been using a CS2 for about a year with zero issues filling to 3k.
I have an Avenger coming this week….hope the CS2 will fill it to 4k+ as well as it’s working to fill my Prod to 3k.
following
I think CS2 is rated up to 4,500 psi but I do my Avenger to only 4,000 cause I want a buffer I think Avenger max is 4,250 psi and who knows how accurate the pump or gun gauge is. PS You'll love your Avenger!

I have filled the katran to 4200 with it, but it gets fumy. The gauge is dead on with FX and Airmaks gauges, but with my Benjis, Kral and Evanix the gun gauges showed 200 psi higher than compressor gauge.
Interesting! So you think it's best to just go off the gun's gauge when it gets closer to full?

I thought the CS2 has it in mpa or something NOT psi. You think putting a psi gauge on there is worth it?

I have had a CS-2 for over 2 years and it never misses a beat only use it to fill small air guns . I did fill my Avenger a few times but decided to only go to 3600 and when I put a 580cc CF bottle on it I only used my twin cyl tuxing , I still have the CS-2 but now use it as a truck fill station BTW I only feed my compressors Nitrogen I have a 21 cuft bottle that I use in the truck the CS-2 has 15 hours on it when I popped it open it didn't even need lube yet. My newest GX Cs-4 is my main large gun filler now 2 580cc guns and 3 360cc guns and a K1 5075 psi fill :>)

That's great to hear you got 2+ years out of cs2 so far! With 580cc but only 3600 psi you probably still got more shots/ fill than my 350cc bottle at 4k. I was hand pumping (like 225 strokes to fill @ reg set) so I didn't want bigger but figured 350 plus the 11 or so from plenum got me double the air over stock tubes.

Does cs2 have an hour meter?? How do you keep track.

Also on your sidetrack of nitrogen- I work for a car auto group and we sell nitrogen fill for tires as an upcharge in service dept. All I've ever heard is "you don't drive a nascar that's such a waste" lol So I understand they say nitrogen is more stable for temperature changes like summer to winter or cold to warm your tires are supposed to stay closer to same psi. Now for airguns, can you please share what does nitro benefit you? I personally would rather spend more $ on pellets! Haha

Nitrogen is totally dri NO oxidizers ie oxygen , c02 or enviromental contaminates it will shoot slightly faster than air as it is free of those things. It also does not support combustion in your compressor so no detonation in the high pressure cylinder.
I do have a hour meter on all of my compressors I use the vibratory type as they only register when the pump is running not the fans

2 yrs in and no problem. I have filled a lot of 300 bar guns. I use a CS4 at home, but when I go off property, I grab my little 11lb. chugger. Bill and Addi.

Pretty cool, I wouldn't know where to get nitrogen where I am.

I'll look into the hour meter, it sounds like a good thing to have.

Another multi year review is good news!

Does anyone with CS2 run additional water/air/oil whatever filter? Or does everyone run as is from factory?

try pearson metal art or radcliff AG services both do metal work may get gases delivered from Airgas who have a couple stores within 40 miles or so

Most places that have welding supplies will have nitrogen. If not, they'll know where you can find it. Yes, with the CS2 you'll want some kind of additional moisture filter. The one that comes with the unit would probably only last a couple airgun fills.
