GX CS4 Compressor - Initial Impressions

2 burst disks is the same as not having a safety system. You dont know what the burst pressure is. Not safe. If they are bursting early it may be an overtightening issue.
GX official contacted me and is sending me some 400 bar burst disks for free. I also purchased a bag of 5 of the same so that should eliminate all problems and I'll have plenty of spares. Happy shooting!

Great!
Now we can all learn about the CS4‘s ability to pump at high pressure.
Please update is with that info @Dogowsky

I have never had a burst disc blo on my GX cs4 and I pump it to 36mpa on both of my hubens, I have had 2 power supplies blow both were S-600-13
which turns out to not be correct it should have been S-650-13. I guess thats what they ship with now
Shortly after receiving mine, I had issues with the power supply. They did send me an upgrade, so this seems it was a common problem.

Just curious if you reached out to GX, or they reached out to you after reading this thread. If so, then that's great customer service. Well, either way it's good service.

I wonder how many vendors read the forums to get an idea of what bugs need to be worked out.

I still have yet to try my CS4 compressor and I bought it when they first came out, so that means I have the original discs and power supply, hopefully when I do need to use it I will have no issues. I've been using my Yong Heng, but seized the piston from overheating because I was experimenting with a loop system radiator, and obviously I hooked it up incorrectly. The other reason is I use my GX CS2. It's just so darn easy to use and requires nothing. No water, just an outlet and extra time. The Yong Heng fills up faster, but I've heard the CS4 is really fast.

They reached out to me which was nice. They sent me 5 free 400 bar burst disks, and I purchased 5 from the link they sent me. That's great customer service in my book!

My power supply blew as well a week ago. They sent me a replacement within 4 days. All they asked for was my Amazon order number. Great customer service!

Blackpaw - I have had the GX line of compressors for a while now. Early on I watched a video where the check valve would get a buildup of grease and moisture on it which would not let it build pressure past about 1k psi. In short, there is a 19mm (or 17mm?) brass bolt on the bottom of the pump. Remove it and the spring and rod behind it. Clean the rod and the rubber ball off with alcohol and clean out the pump side. Reassemble. In the three or so years that I have had the pump, I do this about every 6-8 months. I also live with very low humidity, so I may be getting a longer serice interval than those near the coast.

I can walk you through it step by step if you want.

Shoot'em good!
Hello Blackpaw, I'm having an issue with my GX4 not building pressure past 3600psi. Could you help me with your fix, Please I need 5000psi. Thanks ,Marty

The CS4 has the check valve up on top. It's a matter of removing the complete brass 'Burst disc' fitting that's beside the grease pot.
Use the tube socket from the tool kit to undo the complete fitting. You can leave the smaller top fitting alone as the burst disc lives under there...you need to take off the complete fitting to find the check valve.

Remove these bits and clean them, plus clean down inside where they live (a Q tip is fine for that).
I ran mine for a few minutes with that valve removed (but stuck a chunk of clean cloth down in there to catch the extra gunk coming out).
Takes about 3 or 4 minutes to get it done. Easy job, and may be all you need to do.
A pair of tweezers make it easy to grab the wee brass gadget (there's a short 'pin' sticking up that the tweezers can grab).

I have just found this post and read all the posts/information.
The question I have is this,
Looking at all the photo's of the CS-4 compressor, there are 4 rubber feet on one side of the case,
does this mean that this compressor also be used laying flat AND standing upright?
There is no info on which way it should be used, that I can find.

I am in the process of checking the Rat Hole funds and will buy one ASAP.

So I have ran mine for 7hr and 10mins thus far. And I hasn't slowed down since the start. When I reached the 5hr 20mins mark I checked to see how long it would take to fill to go from 0-300b with the plug and initially I got almost 31 seconds twice, at the 5.5gr mark it was actually filling up in under 29seconds. Would I just check again once I hit the next 4-6 hrs mark?
