Ad just updated tonight, recommended by the factory.

Hey, isn't that a bait and switch? You cannot change the specs after the sale and have it apply to those that bought before the change.
This coming from a company that doesn't correctly fill the grease cup, so that in many cases turning it does nothing for 10 or more turns! That's 60 hours of use without any addition lube!

The grease cups will flow, heat warms the grease and it flows. Another reason for the small hole.

Squishing the grease to the very end all the time will over lubricate the compressor. Not only will you end up over greased, you can plug up the water trap with grease making it nearly useless.

Compressors are test ran before they leave the factory. And spinning that grease cup as they suggest is perfectly fine.

Interesting update... I just went to the Official GX Pump website and see where they have the update posted in bold as the first bullet in the description:

But, the 3rd bullet still states you can fill up to a 6.8L cylinder with a run time of 5 hours... Seems to be some conflicting information!

I noticed that GX has a lot of conflicting information, especially when you read their footnotes. I'm not super enthusiastic about this derating. I have a CS4-I showing up this week to fill 3L tanks and hoped to have headroom for larger tanks.
I don't think you need to worry - my bet would be that this is just a marketing ploy . . . . and from what I read, nothing is "de-rated" in this change.

They aren't actually changing any of the "ratings" for the unit - it still is rated to run for up to 5 hours and put out the same pressure and all that. They are just now "recommending" their bigger compressors for the larger bottles - and why is that? Because somebody decided it would be better for the CS5 series to be able to actually have a "recommended" tank size application, rather than just to have a faster fill rate for those units. So they changed their marketing message, but not the products . . .

You should be fine no matter what size tank you end up filling.

The compressors have handled the larger tanks for over 2 years now.

I wouldn't be to concerned about it.

If the water is filled correctly and no air pockets these compressors really do not get that hot.

When I test them, they are ran close to a constant 3800psi for at least 20 minutes and in that time they really stabilize their temps.

My only guess is the airsoft crowd doesn't like the fill speed... they buy a lot of these, and other compressors. They will take their large tanks down to a couple hundred pounds before a refill. The K5-1 or 2 would make much more sense for them.

I just ordered a cs4-i compressor last week but not suppose to receive it until this week some time. I own several older pcp but none of them gets filled more than 3000 lbs and I do not own a larger air tank. So I am not worried about a long run time. But I did want a compressor that I could fill from my car.

Got my 6.8 liter Tuxing today. Filling now with the Gx cs4i.
I’ll post time and head temperature.
That’s assuming it makes it Hhhaaaaa!!
I'll be interested in your results. Last Friday I received my GX CX4-I and tried topping off my Luxfer 106 from 250BAR to 300BAR. After 45 minutes the unit turned itself off. It continued to turn itself off after every 5-6 minutes all the way to 300BAR which it finally completed over 1 hour later. I thought this pump would go over 5 hours. I'm definitely feeling misled. I have until 15 March to return it though.

There’s something wrong then. Definitely. I’ve posted so many times about my 5 hour + run when new the regulars on here are surely sick of it ! That was to completely fill a 9 liter from empty ( new) to 4500 psi.
At this moment the time is 1:33 , head temp 76.1 degree f , 1650 psi

Also... was the water properly filled to get rid of the air pocket?

I have added a radiator and computer fans, I got the idea on here and I will find his name for credit. This was done after the 5 hour run just for the hell of it. In that 5 hours judging from touch it was no warmer at 5 hours then 30 minutes .
