GX CS4 hour meter

The hour meter on my compressor reads in tenths. Right now it reads 13.8
How do I convert this reading to hours and minutes?

Each .1 is 6 minutes, so you have 3 hours 48 minutes.

The meter may be wrong but I put it on when the compressor was new. The compressor may have just over an hour or so on it total.
Guess I need find an “hour meter” that doesn’t read in tenths. Any suggestions?

Far as I'm aware, they all read in tenths.

Guess that would depend on the meter. All of mine are in 10ths. Maybe you can post yours.

So, if it’s reading correctly, that’s 13.8 tenths which if I’m calculating correctly, that would be about an hour and 20 minutes…..correct?

Nope, 13.8 is, 13 hours 48 minutes. You may had got a used meter...

It was new. Read .00 when I first installed it.
Its definitely not 13 hours and 48 minutes.

Then something is wrong with it. A standard hour meter should be .1 = 6 minutes. That's a 1/10 hour meter.

If you multiply 13.8 X 6 you would get 82.8 minutes.(which would be close to the total “estimated “ run time).
Mine is a 1/10 hour meter.

A 1/10 hour meter is still .1 = 6 minutes. Everything to the left of the decimal is in hours. Is it installed correctly? Running the clock even when the compressor is not running?

Maybe because it sure doesn’t have anywhere near 13 hours on it.

The only reason I am using one is to know to twist the lube pot at 4 hrs.
I can guesstimate close enough.

I am still curious though so I may check it against a stopwatch.

Must be a bad meter…..no way that it has more than two hours total
