GX CS4-I compressor P/S fan

I was snooping today on my new compressor (while I'm impatiently waiting on the Avenge-X to show) and wanted to see how it ran so took the cover off. I noticed the small fan in the internal power supply wasn't running while it was pumping. Just curious if this is normal - ie it has a temperature control switch that kicks it on or if I need to do some EE on it. Anybody with the CS3-I, have you noticed if the power supply fan runs continuous or cycles? If this were my design, I'd have it run continously. I was running it from 120Vac. I guess it could be only needed for 12V input?

Maybe try hooking it up to 12v and see what happens? That looks like they simply installed the 12v power supply inside the case, so me thinks that fan should be running constantly. I am guessing there aren't too many GX CS4-I owners out there, but hopefully someone who has one will chime in.

I am curious where you found it. None for sale on Amazon that I can find and the CS4-I is not even listed on the factory website.

CS3 has to run through the external 12v power supply, well, with the exception of directly hooking up to a 12v vehicle battery. When the power unit is plugged into house wall outlet, its fan is continuous.

See a # of them on eBay, I passed on that model because of trying to put money towards other PCP stuff.

22 classic wood tube. Says arriving 9.11.23 in the orders edit menu but I'm not holding my breath. The next in-stock date says 11.6. If I end up having to wait until then, I'm gonna have to buy something used off the for-sale section. You?
Nice, I was just curious and seen several configs. For me - first PCP, I went the Taipan route and purchased right here off AN classifieds. I missed out on the clearance with the shift to Veteran II and wanted the Veteran standard in .22. The compact/shorty is impressive. I'd buy a standard too, if I could. Spent my budget.

The water pump and the compressor motor run off 12V, so when running off the truck battery, there's nothing going on in the inverter. It's cool as a cucumber. I'll probably dig into it tomorrow. Maybe got a loose wire connector on the fan. I did email the seller too. So we'll see what happens there.
I never YouTubed your model, perhaps someone did a review there that might explain more?

I have a CS-4 and can check later and its if it's running on mine. I would also reach out to GX Pumps direct and ask about a replacement if it's not working as it should. GX Pumps does sell parts, but not sure if they have that fan of not...

Here's the power supply fan. Keep in mind this is the CS4-I with the integrated power supply. So I think it's a bit different design. I've got the power supply cracked open and am going to test the fan and power to it here in a bit.
The US GX distributor isn't selling the CS4-I model yet. I asked gx pumps about it a couple weeks ago and he replied that he wasn't going to carry it. Only place I could find it was Aliexpress.

No GX CS4-I (with the internal power supply) on the factory website...........or Amazon.

Oh, okay, I wasn't aware they had one with an internal power supply. I will say that on the external power supply that came with mine, the fan runs constantly. I have it mounted under my work bench and just connect the DC connectors to it when using it at home, then disconect the power supply if I need to use it in the field from the car battery. Does the fan run if you connect it direct to a 12V DC source?

Is that with the compressor connected to 12V DC or did you disconnect the fan from the circuit bord and test it to see if it ran on 12V DC direct? Alsi check the voltage where the fam plugs onto the circuit board to see if you are getting 12V DC to the connector. That would help isolate the problem to either the fan being bad or a problem with the circuit board. Once you isolate the problem, contact GX Pums and have them send you a replacement part.
